AccuQuest Hearing Aid Reviews
If you’re in the market for hearing aids, you may have heard of a company called AccuQuest. AccuQuest is a retail chain of hearing aid stores with over 450 locations in the US. Based out of Chicago, IL, AccuQuest started out as a single hearing aid office in 2006, under another name, and has witnessed explosive growth in the last decade with offices nationwide. I named the title of this post “AccuQuest Hearing Aid Reviews,” because many people I speak to think AccuQuest is a type of hearing aid- but it’s not. AccuQuest is a chain of hearing centers, and does not manufacturer hearing aids.
What hearing aids does AccuQuest sell?
In 2013, Denmark based William Demant Holding A/S purchased AccuQuest. William Demant is the parent company of the Oticon, Bernafon, and Sonic Innovations hearing aid brands. The AccuQuest website indicates that several major hearing aid brands are available through their centers, but since they are owned by William Demant, you are likely to be recommended hearing aids built by one of their brands, and that’s fine. All three of those brands are well respected hearing aids that most people will do well with.
Should you buy hearing aids from AccuQuest?
Like all retail hearing aid outlets, the answer is, “it depends”. We can’t unequivocally endorse any major chain of stores because the service you receive is going to vary depending on the practitioner you are working with. If you are comfortable with the practitioner at your local AccuQuest, there is absolutely no reason not to purchase hearing aids from them. However, as you should do when you purchase hearing aids from any retailer, check the location’s reviews online before agreeing to purchase.
Does AccuQuest have competitive pricing?
Your local AccuQuest is likely to have prices comparable to every other retail hearing aid outlet. For an entry level set, you should plan on spending $3000-$4000, for mid-range $4000-$5000, and for a premium set you will likely pay over $6000 for hearing aids from AccuQuest. Based on callers we’ve spoken to in the past year, these prices are in the ballpark for what AccuQuest may quote you, but that’s not to say they won’t have much cheaper or much more expensive options. If you’ve been quoted for hearing aids by AccuQuest and would like to confirm you’re paying a competitive price, feel free to call us at 800-731-6794 and we’ll try to determine which model you were quoted and if the price is reasonable.
The bottom line
AccuQuest sells high quality hearing aids at prices that are in line with what other retailers are charging. However, before committing to purchasing AccuQuest hearing aids, you would be wise to check the local reviews for the center from which you are considering purchasing. In addition, be sure to explore all of your options because you might find some of the same hearing aids AccuQuest sells, for less elsewhere. For instance, ZipHearing sells many of the same brands listed on AccuQuest’s website, for significantly less than AccuQuest or any other retailer sells them. You can see some of these hearing aids here. By doing a little bit of homework, you can save a significant amount of money on brand name hearing aids.
