Oticon Alta vs. Alta Pro

What is the difference between Alta vs Alta Pro?

Well for starters, as the same suggests, the Alta Pro is the more innovative of the two hearing aids, and for a few reasons.

  • Alta Pro comes with the Spatial Sound feature: Spatial Sound helps you to hear exactly where sounds are coming from more clearly and helps to separate the sounds you want to hear from the noises you don’t.
  • The Alta Pro has binaural processing of compression:Binaural processing of compression allows the hearing aids to more intelligently work together and communicate with each other to make simultaneous and synchronized adjustments to the hearing aids. What this means for you is increased speech understanding, and a more comfortable listening level in a wider variety of environments.

In short, most hearing providers recommend that you purchase the Pro version if you are buying 2 hearing aids, and the standard version if you are buying 1 hearing aid.

Are these hearing aids a good value?

It depends. If you’ve been quoted over $6,000 for a pair of either of these hearing aids, you could certainly find comparable hearing aids from other name brands that are just as respected as Oticon, for much less.
