I could hear the persons voice but I couldn't understand what they were saying. Hearing consonants is essential for communicating in a crowd. Signia Pure Charge&Go IX restored my consonants.

Mixed Bag

I'd like to start off by saying that these are my first hearing aids, so I don't really know how they stack up against others. I do know that they are very good at supressing wind noise and recognizing my voice, (and not amplifing it). They seem to be weak at supressing background noise and focusing on spoken language - they appear to amplify all noise and are difficult to use in loud environments, like a busy resturants. In these environments I hear better with the aids turned off.

Amazing sound!

I can hear again!! No more asking people to repeat what they said, turn up the TV, or be staring blankly because I wasn't sure someone was addressing me. I can hear the water that I accidentally left running outside (old pipes in an old house). It's wonderful!!

They just work!

I LOVE my new Signia Pure Chareg&Go 5 IX hearing aids. I'm 81 and these are my first so I wondered if I'd have trouble adjusting to the sound or the aids. The answer is neither! The sound is very natural - I'm now hearing highs I haven't heard for decades. From the first day I've been wearing them for 16 hours per day and don't even know they're there. Best of all, although they have different programs and adjustments, I haven't needed to fiddle with either. These hearing aids just work!

A work in progress...

The Pure Charge&Go 7IX + CROS transmitter seem to be working fine, but I don't have a clear picture of whether they have improved my situation. I have a totally deaf ear, which complicates everything. I hope to have a clearer answer by the end of my trial period.

Hearing Aid Round 2

The adjustment range is remarkable. I have lost the hearing of the high frequency range. I now hear every click and chime in my new car. Maybe that is not an advantage? I have the Signa TV transmitter that transmits directly to my hearing aids. The crisp clear sound is fantastic!

Common questions about Signia Pure Charge&Go IX hearing aids

Bluetooth / ConnectivityRechargeabilityControls/AppsMiscellaneous

Choose questions category:

Can this hearing aid be paired directly to my Bluetooth TV?
No. Streaming audio from the TV requires the StreamLine TV accessory.
Does this hearing aid allow for hands-free phone calls?
Only via the StreamLine Mic accessory. When talking on the phone, you'll hear the caller through the hearing aids, but in order for them to hear you (and for you to use the phone truly hands-free), you'd need to use the StreamLine Mic accessory, which has a microphone on it that will pack up your voice so the caller can hear you.
Is this hearing aid Bluetooth compatible?

Pure Charge&Go IX hearing aids offer direct Bluetooth streaming with iOS devices, and select ASHA-compatible Android devices (most newer Android devices). If you don't have an iOS or ASHA-compatible Android device, you can still stream audio to your hearing aids, but it requires buying the StreamLine Mic accessory, which creates a Bluetooth connection between your hearing aids and phone. In addition, Pure Charge&Go IX hearing aids are ready for the future Bluetooth LE Audio standard and Auracast™.

How many hours a day do the batteries last?
The Li-ion power cell of Pure Charge&Go IX delivers up to 24 hours of use on a single charge, including 5 hours of streaming. The slightly larger Pure Charge&GO T IX model offers up to 36 hours of use on a single charge, including 5 hours of streaming.
What is the lifespan of the rechargeable batteries?
Signia expects the battery to last 3-4 years, at which point the hearing aid will need to be sent to them to get a new battery. We expect most providers will chage $150-$250 per device for this service.
How will I know when my battery needs to be charged?
When your battery is low, you'll hear a melodic descending tone, which will repeat every 15 minutes until the battery dies.
What if I'm on-the-go and my battery dies?
If you are concerned about this, we recommend upgrading to the Pure Portable Charger. This charger features a built-in lithium-ion battery which can store 3 full charges, so in the event you don't have access to electricity, you can still charge your hearing aids by pulling the reserve battery from the case.
How long does it take to get a full charge?
A full charge takes 4 hours and provides up to 24 hours of power. A 30-minute fast charge provides an extra 7 hours of use.
Does the charger include a dehumidifier?
The standard charger that comes with all orders does not. If you live in a humid environment or are concerned about moisture, you may want to buy the Pure Dry&Clean Charger which offers UVC cleaning and drying.
Does this hearing aid use indictive or galvanic charging?
Galvanic. There is a gold charging contact on the bottom of the hearing aid which must make contact with the contact inside the charger. The contacts are magnetically attracted, so it's easy to make sure the hearing aid is positioned properly for charging. Previous Charge&Go models used inductive charging.
How can I control this hearing aid, and which settings can I control?
Using the onboard pushbutton, or the miniPocket remote, you can control the volume and program. Using the Signia app, you can control volume, program, base and treble, and on 5 and 7 models, you can control the directionality of the microphones, helping to reduce background noise in a challenging listening environment.
How do I turn this hearing aid on and off?
To turn the hearing aids off, simply put them in the charger. Or, press and hold the bottom rockerswitch button for 3 seconds. To turn the hearing aids on, pull them out of the charger, or press and hold the bottom rockerswitch button for 3 seconds.
Does the app have a “Find My Hearing Aid” feature?
It does not.
Can I get this hearing aid with a telecoil?
Yes, the Charge&GO T IX model includes a telecoil and improved battery performance.
Is this hearing aid CROS compatible?
Yes, Pure Charge&Go IX works with the Pure Charge&Go CROS IX.
Is this model compatible with color changing kits?
Yes. If you're unsure of the color you want to order, or would simply like to change colors, your hearing provider can order color changing kits from Signia. They can then quickly change the color of the hearing aid.

StreamLine MIC has two features. First, it's most commonly used as a Bluetooth streamer that allows you to stream audio from your phone to your hearing aids. If you have an Android phone or any non-Apple smartphone, you'll need this device if you wish to stream audio from your phone to your hearing aids. If you have an iPhone, you won't need this device, because Signia Pure Charge&GO IX hearing aids are directly compatible with iPhones. Even if you have an iPhone, it still may make sense to get this, because it does allow for hands free phone calls. Wear it around your neck and the microphone picks up your voice for the person on the other end of the call to hear, so you don't have to hold you the phone to your mouth when speaking. The second feature of StreamLine MIC is its ability to work as a remote microphone. If you have a hard time hearing in noise this accessory is a lifesaver. Attach the StreamLine MIC to a companion's shirt and their voice will stream directly to your hearing aids. Their voice will come through much stronger than all the competing noise in the environment.

You probably don't need this. Most people use the app to control their hearing aids, but if that doesn't suit you, this remote is a simple way to control the volume and program.

KEY FEATURES

1. Color changing kits

The image of Color changing kits hearing aids feature

Not sure which color you want? We recommend viewing the color options available on this page, you can even see which colors are the most popular. For the most discreet look, we recommend trying to match the color of the hearing aid to your hair color. If you’re unsure of the color you want, Signia has color changing kits that we can send with your order, which allow your hearing provider to change the color of the hearing aids in the office.

2. Dome

The image of Dome hearing aids feature

The dome slips over and encloses/protects the receiver/speaker. Domes are made with medical-grade silicone. They come in different shapes and sizes—your hearing care professional will help you pick the right size and style. Signia also has the option of using what they call “Sleeves” instead of domes, which are essentially just a longer, conical shaped dome, do a google search for “Signia sleeves” to see pictures of these. Selecting the appropriate dome or sleeve will change the sound performance of your hearing aids, so if you’re not achieving satisfying results with your hearing aids, your hearing provider will often consider trying a different dome style. In some cases, such as for wearers with severe or profound hearing loss, an earmold will be used instead of a dome.

3. Microphone

The image of Microphone hearing aids feature

The microphone picks up the sound from the environment and sends it into the hearing aid for processing. You’ll mostly want to leave the microphone alone, but periodically check it to ensure it’s not being plugged up by hair care products or oils.

4. Receiver

The image of Receiver hearing aids feature

The receiver AKA speaker delivers the sound into the ear. Signia receivers are available in 3 different strengths, standard (S), moderate (M), power (P). Your ZipHearing provider will help you determine the appropriate gain (strength/power) receiver based on the results of your hearing test. Expect to have to replace your receivers every year or so, and this is something that usually takes just a few minutes with your local ZipHearing provider.

5. Receiver wire

The image of Receiver wire hearing aids feature

This thin, plastic-coated wire transmits power and signals to the receiver/speaker, which is worn inside the ear. Signia receivers are available in 5 different lengths: 0,1,2,3 & 4. Your ZipHearing provider will help you determine the appropriate length of receiver wire, by measuring your ear. In cases when your ZipHearing provider is unsure of the exact receiver length that will work best for you, we’re happy to send out a few different receiver lengths for you to try.

6. Rechargeable battery

The image of Rechargeable battery hearing aids feature

Pure Charge&Go IX hearing aids are powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, expected to last 16-24 hours/day. The battery takes about 3 hours to fully charge, and a 30 minute quick charge will get you about 6 hours of power. These batteries will last about 3 years, and the first battery replacement is covered under your 3 year hearing aid warranty.

7. Push button

The image of Push button hearing aids feature

The push buttons can be programmed by your hearing provider to have different functions, depending on your needs. Some of these functions include volume and program control, on/off functionality, starting/stopping TV streaming, and answering phone calls (requires iPhone 11 or higher). Some people use these buttons exclusively to control the hearing aids, and others use the app to control the hearing aids. Others (most people), use a combination of both the app and rocker switch to make adjustments to their hearing aids. You likely won’t have to use these buttons often, but some people find them handy to make quick adjustments to their hearing aids when they change listening environments (ie, entering a noisy restaurant, or a quiet room). Your hearing provider will go over the options available and make sure your hearing aids are set up to your ideal preferences.

8. Water resistant

The image of Water resistant hearing aids feature

Pure Charge&Go IX has an IP68 rating, meaning it’s protected from dust getting inside and can withstand exposure to water, though caution around water is highly recommended.

9. Wax filter

The image of Wax filter hearing aids feature

When it comes to maintaining your hearing aids, this is where you’ll spend most of your time. The wax filter (mostly) prevents wax and oils from getting into the receiver/speaker. Your hearing provider may supply you with Signia Nanocare 3.0 wax guards enabling you to periodically change these on your own. Some people never have to change these wax filters, others have to change them weekly. Your purchase includes 1 pack of wax filters, and you can purchase additional wax filters directly from your ZipHearing provider, or through a number of sites online such as Amazon.
