I had some moulded in the ear hearing aids ten years back. I could not stand them due to occlusion issues. So I switched to a high-end Widex over the ear model. They worked great, but I did not wear them too often (at the expense of those around me). Unfortunately, there is a stigma to wearing hearing aids. I came across the Signia Silk 7Nx via an ad. I was excited that they had the same ear inserts as my Widex Over the Ear hearing aids - hoping I could benefit from their more discrete styling while avoiding the occlusion of my previous in ear aids. And I wanted to avoid molds. These are a hit! The sound processing is not as good as my over the ear set, but I enjoy the relatively greater freedom they provide. They sound great. Most importantly, I actually wear them. They start to sound tinny / robotic at higher volumes, which for me is 50%. Not real tinny or robotic - just enough not to be 100% natural sounding. I keep them at about 20 - 25% which allows me to hear clearly without all the background noise I had become accustomed to not hearing. My audiologist programmed 4 sound programs which I can control via my phone. When I go back, I will ask her to add one for driving. That's the only situation I've not settled out yet. Check these out.
I recently purchased a pair of Signia Silk NX7 hearing aids. I am a long time user of hearing aids and have used two different sets of over the ear hearing aids for the past 8 years. Both of those were satisfactory but I wanted to move to something that was less noticeable and not impacted by the movement of the arms of my glasses. The NX'7s met these requirements plus they did not require me to go through the process of having an ear mold made. If you are new to hearing aids any model of hearing aid is going to require some time for you get accustomed to them, both from a comfort/feel and sound standpoint. But for me, having used hearing aids for a long time, I encountered no problems making the switch the the NX7's. I find them extremely comfortable to wear and most of the time I don't even realize physically that I have them in my ears. Additionally, they are providing me with the most natural sound of any I have worn along with improved hearing. And finally, they essentially disappear into the ear. Highly recommended. You will need to try both the click selves and click domes in various sizes to see which works best for you. I found the click domes to be the most comfortable and they also allow better pass through of external sounds.
I've had my new Signia Silk 7 NX hearing aids almost 2 weeks and I'm very satisfied so far. I've had 2 appointments to "fine tune" these hearing aids and I'm very happy with the results. They are comfortable to wear and sound more natural than my older behind the ear hearing aids. No more feedback when my wearing my hearing aids and my glasses or hats. In fact no more feedback period, even when I try to make them feedback intentionally. One minor negative is they take a size 10 battery where my old aids took a size 13, so the batteries don't last as long. But that is not a big deal to me, I'm happy to replace the batteries more often and have a convenient, more natural sounding hearing aids with excellent feedback cancellation. I can understand speech in any situation and have had no problems with the touch control app. If I need to make adjustments, it's very handy and only takes a few taps of my phone. I can even tell the hearing aids in which direction I need to hear and the microphones point in that direction (called Spatial Configurator). Another little detail is that I can rename the programs so I remember which program I need to be on (there are 6 program slots on my hearing aids). I am also a musician (acoustic music) and I really like the HD Music Performer program. The windscreen feature is also nice having come from behind the ear hearing aids to these, I hardly hear any wind noise with the Silks and I couldn't hear anything but wind on a windy day with my old BTE aids. Overall a really great pair of hearing aids and I highly recommend them!
Got two singia silk 7nx recently. Had them about a month. My wife says I can hear her and she doesn't have to repeat herself much anymore. That was the main reason I got them, so they get 3 of the stars for just making her happy. They have an app to control the volume and programs. It only works if you are not connected to something else via Bluetooth, but that's OK since I normally am not changing the sound at those times. I can adjust the treble and bass and volume from my phone which really helps in meetings at work. My favorite button is mute for when a baby is crying or the kids play the worship music too loud at church. I would give them 5 stars if the app would play music and phone calls through them via Bluetooth and work via Bluetooth to control. That is not available yet for this little in ear model. I have the notch therapy on, but I haven't noticed any improvement yet. Going in to get the notch adjusted up a little to see if that works better. I would buy them again.
The devices do not work for me as they do not fit securely in my ear canal. More noise amplification than speech clarity Squealing when I have my mobile phone or handset to my ears No invisible enough compares to soundless which I previously wore. Interface with app worked fine but sometimes is hesitant in connecting with app .
I am a first time hearing user and I have had the Signia Silk 7nx aids for about a month. So far I am very pleased with them. They are very comfortable and provide good sound quality for me. I have noticed a much better ability to hear in background noise situations. They fit well and with the phone app. I can adjust them to different situations. I would recommend them to those looking for an in the ear device.
The Signia Silk 7Nx hearing aids are very small and fir entirely in the ear canal. They cannot be seen unless you look directly in the ear canal. They are easy to put in and take out. The batteries are lasting 5 days. The batteries are easy to change. The sound quality is very good. They are very durable. The volume can be controlled by an app on my iPhone. They can be programmed to each individuals hearing needs.
I've upgraded from Signia 2px to the the Signia 7NX and they sound great. Somehow they made them smaller (shorter). I have a short ear canal and they fit well and are very comfortable. Completely invisible, which is a huge plus. Im still working with my hearing provider to dial them in but so fae the upgrade was worth it.
I’m only in day 3 of my trial of the Signia Silk 7nx aides and so far so good. I have a high-end pair of BTE Signia Primax aides which I like but have not been able to get over the stigma of visible aides so wanted to give these a try. The sound quality of the Silks does not yet quite match my BTE aides, but I haven’t gone back for my first programming adjustment. Noise suppression is about the same. One difference so far though in favor of the Silks- somehow sound seems more natural hitting and these aides directly in my ear canals vs. sound hitting my Primax aides behind the ears and being piped in. Took a day to get used to the Silks in my ear canals but now I hardly notice them. Quite comfortable and they stay in the canals. Nearly invisible and it makes a HUGE difference in my desire to wear them. I feel completely at ease wearing these. Never felt that way with the BTE aides. Very liberating. Expecting to achieve a little better sound quality with some adjustments, and I’ll be completely sold though on the Silks.
Definitely 5 Star! Sound quality is excellent - very comfortable - I love the different settings, especially when I am in a restaurant or outside in the wind. My only wish - that I could adjust (as opposed to the audiologist) the sound left to right, so I could make one ear louder at times. If it's not quite balanced, I keep having to go back. Otherwise - terrific.
Not too bad, thus far. I am still in the trial stage. It has been only a bit over two weeks since I was fitted. It is certainly comfortable, but it still has the occlusion effect, which is supposed to go away in time. I hope it does soon. I feel I have to adjust the HA some more to my liking. I have been amazed by the Signia 7Nx with regard to the over all capability as a CIC. I wish the Signia staff would answer my questions, for which I am still waiting, though they are very cordial. I think I can say some more about the HA in a couple weeks after another adjusting.
The Silk Nx7 and Silk CROS set that I upgraded to are really excellent for sound quality and ease of use. They are exactly what I needed. The phone App for volume control works about half the time, the other half it seems to do nothing, but that is just a small annoyance really. The only negatives are the extremely small size means you have to be extremely careful if you are removing/inserting them in extremely loud environments like I am doing frequently, and the fit inside the canal is either perfect or bad, depending on your ear canal size, One of mine fits the M size perfectly, the other side does not fit M or S or XS, it must be something in between all those, so its always a problem fit and falling out a hundred times a day, but I guess that's my own anatomy fault and not the sleeve sizes.
