Widex Evoke

The world's first smart hearing aid

As of July 8, 2020, Evoke is an outdated model. If you're interested in Evoke, check out the next generation model, Widex Moment.

Evoke was a mostly solid hearing aid- so long as you didn't want rechargeable batteries.

We love that MOMENT now offers a reliable rechargeable battery technology, and that MOMENT builds on the best parts of Evoke, leaving the old rechargeable silver-zinc battery technology behind.

I can now hear the click sound

My sound quality is very good, especially the high frequencies which have faded as I aged. I can now hear the click sound of the directional signal relay in my car to remind me to turn it off when it stays on after completing a turn.

It has also been helpful when watching British shows on public television because their speech is just enough different that I used to need to record the show to be able to back up and repeat segments to fully understand what was being said.

Very pleased with the Bluetooth

i am very pleased with my choice of the Widex 330 hearing aids. i especially enjoy being able to stream phone conversations and music from my phone directly to the hearing aids.
The hearing aids are easy to wear, easy to clean and very comfortable in addition to providing good sound for voices and speech that I was struggling to hear.

Seem to hbe working very well

Although I have only had my hearing aids about two weeks they seem to be working very well, they are comfortable and have a large choice of sound options. The only draw back is the app occasionally shuts down and I have to reload it on my phone.

The very best units

I originally looked at the Widex Beyond in 2016. At that time it was the newest Widex product on the market. I had the opportunity to test them extensively, together with Oticon, Signia and two others. In the end, for me, the Widex were the most suitable one. I paid a lot of attention to sound, particularly the music option because of classical music. Oticon came close, but there was still, for me, a noticeable difference. When I was ready to purchase a set of hearing aids, Widex came out with the Evoke models. I chose the Widex Evoke 440 Rechargeable. Two basic reasons, on technical products I always go for the latest because it will be old by the time a couple of weeks went by and secondly for environmental reasons, the rechargeable. The Evoke most surprised me with its artificial learning ability. Once you try this, you will find it incredible because you can adjust to whatever surroundings you are in, or what your hearing goal is.Secondly, as far as I know, no other manufacturer offers this, if I am out and the reachargable batteries loose power, or on a trip I forget to take the charging unit, I can just place regular batteries in it. The rechargeable and regular batteries are exchangeable without any effort. For me, with the extensive testing I did, these are the very best units!

Crisper, sharper conversations

My new Evoke 440s replaced an older (2014) pair from Widex - similarly their top aids at that time. The new aids are crisper, make conversations sharper and more distinct. The phone app dramatically improves your ability to adjust the hearing contour to your needs in real time as well as to create your own profiles for specific needs. The 'learning' capability' of the devices as they automatically adapt and memorize adjustments you frequently make to a profile is hopefully, a big plus as well. They are somewhat more comfortable that the earlier pair. Service by my local provider has been extremely good, as was ordering and receiving the new devices from ZipHearing. Highly recommended - Widex and ZipHearing.

Loving the Bluetooth

I received my Widex Evoke hearing aids just before Christmas. While I'm still adjusting to the new devises, I love that they are paired to my iPhone. I was surprised by how much audio I had been missing. I wore my new hearing aids for 5 days before I finally told my friends that I had been wearing them. So far I'm quite impressed. ZipHearing made the process so simple, easy and cost effective.

Finest quality

Widex aids appear to have some of the finest quality in sound. These aids have eliminated the majority of background noise and wind noise, I can now hear the conversations clearly.

Best I have had

Best I have had. Being able to manage the sound settings has enabled me to create three setting that fit every situation. I probably have more to learn about the learning feature and how it might affect those settings if any. I have only had them abut a week and should get more answers when I return to the audiologist for a check up.

Superb

Sound quality is superb.
Nobody mentioned that if you go out in a wind, wind noises are amplified to a deafening level.
I never knew that my shoe laces clattered against the floor when I walk.
I never knew that my jeans made a swishing noise when I walk along.
They can fall off quite easily and you have to be careful.

Common questions about Widex Evoke hearing aids

Bluetooth / ConnectivityRechargeabilityDisposable BatteriesControls/AppsMiscellaneous

Choose questions category:

Can this hearing aid be paired directly to my Bluetooth TV?
No. To stream audio from the TV you'll need the TV-DEX or TV Play.
Is this hearing aid Bluetooth compatible?
EVOKE is Made for iPhone, which means it can connect directly with iPhones to stream music, phone calls, and more. If you don't use an iPhone, you can still get Bluetooth functionality via the COM-DEX.
Does this hearing aid allow for hands-free phone calls?
Yes, but only via the COM-DEX accessory. You'll be able to hear the callers voice streaming through the hearing aids, and the caller will hear your voice via the microphone on the COM-DEX device, which should be worn around your neck so the microphone is in close proximity to your mouth.
Is there a rechargeable model?
Initially, there was a model called EVOKE Z, which was compatible with rechargeable batteries made by a company called ZPower. However, shortly after the product was released, ZPower filed for bankruptcy and Widex stopped producing the rechargeable model.
Where can I buy more ZPower batteries?
Most hearing care providers no longer sell these batteries, but we've found them at https://www.zpowerbattery.com/product/zpower-312-rechargeable-silver-zinc-battery/
How long do the batteries last?
The batter on the RIC 10 model will only last 2-4 days. The 312 battery will last 4-6 days.
How will I know when it's time to change the battery?
Depending on how your hearing provider has setup the hearing aid, a few hours before the battery dies you'll hear a spoken notification that says "battery low," or a tone. Then, a few minutes before the battery dies, you'll hear the same notification again.
Are the batteries hard to change?
The only model that is a little challenging is the RIC 10, because it uses the smallest battery size available. But, most people manage just fine. If you're concerned about difficulty changing batteries, we'd recommend getting the RIC 312 model, or just get one of Widex's rechargeable models from their MOMENT line of products.
How can I control this hearing aid, and which settings can I control?
If the model has an onboard push button, that can be used to control the volume and program, as can the RC-DEX remote. Or, you can use the EVOKE app to control the volume, program, base and treble, and microphone directionality.
How do I turn this hearing aid on and off?
To turn the hearing aid on, simply close the battery door. Opening the battery door will turn the hearing aid off.
Does the app have a “Find My Hearing Aid” feature?
Yes, though in order for this feature to work, your hearing aids must have been paired to your phone prior to misplacing them. If they were, the app will identify the last location where the aids were in communication range of the phone, allowing you to narrow your search.
Can I get this hearing aid with a telecoil?
The RIC 312 D and RIC Fusion models both come with telecoils.
Is this hearing aid CROS compatible?
The RIC 10 and RIC Fusion models are CROS compatible.
