Widex Evoke 440 Hearing Aid Description & Features
Evoke 440 was Widex's flagship hearing aid from April 2018 - April 2020.
However, we are now encouraging people interested in Evoke 440 to check out Widex's newest model, Moment 440, released April of 2020.
There may still be reasons to purchase the Evoke 440, depending on your particular needs, but in most cases we'd encourage our customers to buy the Moment model instead, at no additional cost.
Moment is Widex's first hearing aid to offer lithium-ion rechargeability, new (tougher) stainless steel receivers, a new chip and fitting rationale, and an updated design.
Most importantly, Widex Moment has the fastest processing time of any hearing aid on the market, which Widex says makes it one of the most natural-sounding.
At ZipHearing we are still offering the Evoke 440, and if you have questions on it that you don`t find answered on this page, or are looking for specs on this device, you might want to check out the downloadable documents (below), visit Widex`s website, or feel free to give us a call at 800-731-6794.

The RC-DEX is a stylish, compact and user-friendly hearing aid remote control. Its simple and intuitive design gives you better control of basic hearing aid features like volume control and switching programs. RC-DEX is a discreet way to operate your hearing aids. You won't need to touch your hearing aids to adjust them. As features are activated, verbal or tone cues in your hearing aids will let you know you've successfully made the adjustment. RC-DEX is intelligently laid out with three simple keys and is small enough to fit on a keychain. That means that you can quickly and easily start using it. An LED indicator on the remote control also lights up when it is activated. It also has a lock switch to prevent accidental activation.
TV Play: $249
This TV streamer enables direct Dolby Digital stereo sound to stream directly from the TV to your Widex hearing aids, with no intermediary device required, unlike the older TV-DEX. Enjoy personalized sound control with the easy-to-use EVOKE app for both iPhone and Android.
COM-DEX is a stylish, hands-free communication device. You can connect COM-DEX to two phones. This means that if you have work phone and a private phone, for example, you can take calls through COM-DEX on either. Or use one for phone conversations, and the other for music. COM-DEX is available in three colours for more personal feeling: Champagne White, Anthracite Grey and Emerald Green.
The TV-DEX is your user-friendly wireless assistive listening device specifically designed for enjoying TV and audio. The main advantage of the TV-DEX is its real-time high-quality stereo sound. Experience TV or audio sound exactly as it was intended—without annoying distortion—and even more importantly, without the "echo" that would result from a delayed audio signal. Another helpful feature of the TV-DEX is the ‘Room Off’ function. It allows you to temporarily switch off the hearing aid’s microphone and hear the TV sound only. This way you can enjoy your favorite TV programs without unnecessary background noise. You can easily switch the microphones back on any time you want to hear what's going on in the room or have a conversation.
COM-DEX Remote MIC: $269
COM-DEX Remote Mic is a stylish add-on to the COM-DEX solution. Hear conversations easily - close up and in detail. Even in noisy environments. COM-DEX Remote Mic is the answer to difficult one-to-one conversations - at dinner parties, in the car or when you are on adventure trips. Place the COM-DEX Remote Mic in front of your conversation partner for discreet listening within a range of 10 meters. Your conversation partner can also attach COM-DEX Remote Mic using the convenient steel clip. The COM-DEX Remote Mic connects wirelessly via COM-DEX to all Widex wireless hearing aids
CALL-DEX is an ultra-compact device for streaming conversations directly from your mobile phone to your hearing aids. CALL-DEX simply plugs into the audio jack of your phone. You are then free to use your mobile phone normally. That's it. No neckloop, no extra hardware to carry, and no need to see an audiologist or hearing aid specialist for set up. When using CALL-DEX, speak into the phone's microphone to communicate with callers. CALL-DEX lets you stream for up to 80 hours and is compatible with most mobile phones. CALL-DEX is powered by size-10 disposable hearing aid batteries.
Connect to your EVOKE hearing aid, stream sound and control the functions of the world’s first machine-learning hearing aid. Every time you personalize your listening experience, EVOKE learns. Widex Evoke 440 Reviews
Based on 7 User Reviews
I originally looked at the Widex Beyond in 2016. At that time it was the newest Widex product on the market. I had the opportunity to test them extensively, together with Oticon, Signia and two others. In the end, for me, the Widex were the most suitable one. I paid a lot of attention to sound, particularly the music option because of classical music. Oticon came close, but there was still, for me, a noticeable difference. When I was ready to purchase a set of hearing aids, Widex came out with the Evoke models. I chose the Widex Evoke 440 Rechargeable. Two basic reasons, on technical products I always go for the latest because it will be old by the time a couple of weeks went by and secondly for environmental reasons, the rechargeable. The Evoke most surprised me with its artificial learning ability. Once you try this, you will find it incredible because you can adjust to whatever surroundings you are in, or what your hearing goal is.Secondly, as far as I know, no other manufacturer offers this, if I am out and the reachargable batteries loose power, or on a trip I forget to take the charging unit, I can just place regular batteries in it. The rechargeable and regular batteries are exchangeable without any effort. For me, with the extensive testing I did, these are the very best units!
My new Evoke 440s replaced an older (2014) pair from Widex - similarly their top aids at that time. The new aids are crisper, make conversations sharper and more distinct. The phone app dramatically improves your ability to adjust the hearing contour to your needs in real time as well as to create your own profiles for specific needs. The 'learning' capability' of the devices as they automatically adapt and memorize adjustments you frequently make to a profile is hopefully, a big plus as well. They are somewhat more comfortable that the earlier pair. Service by my local provider has been extremely good, as was ordering and receiving the new devices from ZipHearing. Highly recommended - Widex and ZipHearing.
I received my Widex Evoke hearing aids just before Christmas. While I'm still adjusting to the new devises, I love that they are paired to my iPhone. I was surprised by how much audio I had been missing. I wore my new hearing aids for 5 days before I finally told my friends that I had been wearing them. So far I'm quite impressed. ZipHearing made the process so simple, easy and cost effective.
Sound quality is outstanding and better than any other brad I have tried. Transaction was straightforward and staff was helpful.
Sound quality is superb.
Nobody mentioned that if you go out in a wind, wind noises are amplified to a deafening level.
I never knew that my shoe laces clattered against the floor when I walk.
I never knew that my jeans made a swishing noise when I walk along.
They can fall off quite easily and you have to be careful.
Quest hearing is the best. Ryan did a fantastic job of fitting and programming me for the right hearing aides. Widex aids appear to have some of the finest quality in sound. These aids have eliminated the majority of background noise and wind noise, I can now hear the conversations clearly. By far, this is the place to go to be tested, fitted and satisfaction.
Best I have had. Being able to manage the sound settings has enabled me to create three setting that fit every situation. I probably have more to learn about the learning feature and how it might affect those settings if any. I have only had them abut a week and should get more answers when I return to the audiologist for a check up.
