Widex Unique customs Hearing Aid Reviews

Here are the 10 most recent Widex Unique customs hearing aid reviews we've received:

Just ordered a pair after a trail demonstration. Wow! I could pick my specialists voice out clearly from crowd background noise without reading lips! She played music from her phone to the hearing aids wirelessly, and when she spoke I could hear both clearly and with ease. Check out the phone APP on Google play, or iPhone app store. The ability to quickly and easily change settings and listening profiles is awesome. I could set these to work well in a factory, auditorium, restaurant, funeral home, or concert! IT'S DYNAMIC!

I am a long time Widex hearing aid wearer and have been chomping at the bit to purchase new Widex hearing aids but the Beyond line was not unique enough from my pair of Unique 330 receiver in canal hearing aids I've worn since 2014. Eager to upgrade to the Beyond when they were first released, I held off, as I couldn't justify spending thousands on a new set JUST to get the added iphone functionality that came with Beyond. When Evoke came out a few weeks ago, I knew this was time to make the upgrade and could finally justify it, and the change has been tremendous. Now I have direct to Iphone hearing aids AND machine learning though I'm not prepared to tell you what good the latter does...maybe in time? Or maybe I'm just not smart enough :) But these hearing aids are! Birdsong on my Evoke 440s is clearer than ever, all sounds are BRIGHT, yet balance, full, I don't know how to describe it...well rounded? Natural. I am hearing better than ever at church, at restaurants, outdoors, on the golf course.I am a happy camper with these Evokes and am telling all my friends to give them a whirl. Pricey, yes, but worth their weight in gold, which also probably happens to be around what I paid for these gizmos. Highly recommend, hats off to Widex on the Evoke!!!

I am extremely satisfied with my new Widex Beyond 440 hearing aid! The sound quality is surprisingly and amazingly natural compared to what I was expecting. I hear more of what I want without annoying background noise that I don’t. I’m very pleased with how it seems to minimize unwanted background noise and adapt automatically to different environments. For example, I could hear and enjoy conversation in a crowded restaurant that always gave me trouble before. I also love that it functions as a Bluetooth headset and allows me to talk hands-free on my cell phone. I enjoy a lot that I can hear streaming music and other audio content from my phone directly to my hearing aid. I haven’t experienced anything negative with this hearing aid so far. I’m feeling very satisfied with the value and quality of it. It meets and even has exceeded some of my expectations.

Pro: the bass, mid range, and treble can be adjusted to provide a more full sound via the iPhone app. Additionally the accentuated direction can be chosen (front, left, right, rear).

Con: the settings are not retained when one switches from program to program.

Pro: there are up to 5 preprogramed programs that can be set up. In addition, an additional 5 user programs can be be added that are are based on one of the preprogrammed programs.

Con: the bass mid and treble settings do not seem to be retained making the user programs less useful.

Pro: the programs make discriminating speech from noise easier. Additionally a program to reject background noise while driving is useful.

Con: Some programs increase feedback to the point that there is a feedback squeal every 30-45 seconds. This is despite having run an anti-feedback program to reduce this issue on two separate occasions. It requires that the frequency ranges and the overall volume be adjusted manually. The adjustment must be done every time that the program is selected.

Pro: These hearing aids have a battery life approximately twice as long as others that were tested. Battery life appears 7-9 days.

Overall - good hearing aids with some issues that still need to be addressed during the trial period.

Sound quality is great -- especially in noisy areas. Background noise doesn't overpower the sound(s) you really want to hear. Size of the Widex Unique Passion form factor is great for someone with small ears - great color options. Process with Zip Hearing was very easy, professional, and cost-effective.

I hesitated for years on hearing aids. I'm very happy with mine. It took a while of adjustment but now it's very easy putting them in. I function much better at work and no one knows I'm wearing them. The sound quality is fine. The batteries last about a week. I hear a voice tell me to change the batteries. I only had problem with the right ones because of a wax buildup. My husband took care of taking it apart and putting a new thingy in it. I have to tell you that if it wasn't for him I would have had to meet with the dr. and have her take care of that. It's intricate. So far it's been fine. They're pretty comfortable and reliable and I'm glad I got them.

Model: Widex Unique 220 Passion. I have had these for 3 months. First, I haven't heard this good in years. I'm a 50-something male w significant hearing loss in the higher ranges. I can hear my wife and the TV volume has come way down since getting the hearing aids. That by far overrides everything else I have to say, but I do think it's worth saying - as nobody shared this with me.

I am on the phone a lot and have a bluetooth Com-Dex that I wear around my neck for my iPhone. It's great for phone calls and listening to audio books, but now I see that there is (and has been) a Widex Unique hearing aid that automatically links to the iPhone (why didn't my audiologist even bring up that option???). My partner uses the Siemens that does not require an additional piece of equipment to access his phone.

Other things take a bit of getting used to. I live in FL and that means the AC is on most of the time. IF the fan is on high, it is so loud that it really does override anything else including the radio. The ceiling fan in the bathroom does the same thing. I was told that the digital features would cancel that out - well they certainly do not for me and I find myself taking my aids out in these situations which can be a nuisance.

The number 1 issue is I'm outside for extended periods of time every day. It's hot, and humid every day here in Florida. I sweat and my aids act up. I get popping & clicking noises. I will get a loud static/hissing sound that is coming from the aid, not the outside world - that will not go away. They have been sent back twice. I'm not sure what comes back, but they work again for a while. The audiologist provided me with a small dehumidifier to put them in at night to dry them out. That's great, but just a few hours outside and they are acting up again. I can't "not" wear my hearing aids outside and I'm coming to the realization that regardless of what my audiologist says - this is going to be "the issue" with these hearing aids and if I truly want trouble free I may have to look for another model or brand.
