These are my 4th set of hearing aids
Hello my name is Gary, I’m 69 years old and I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I've had hearing issues most of my life which has mainly affected my hearing at the high frequencies. As a young person my hearing was just a little bit below normal so I could get by without hearing aids but as I've aged my hearing loss has become more severe as a result. I’ve been wearing hearing aids for the last 20 years. I’m currently on my 4th set of hearing aids which I've purchased my latest set from ZipHearing. And this is the model I chose. This is the ReSound Omnia and I chose this model for several reasons. The first, I chose it because it's a RIE, or receiver in ear, model and it has the power I need for my particular type of hearing loss which is pretty severe. Plus the fact the majority of the hearing aid is actually situated behind the ear which makes it inconspicuous. The second reason I chose this is because it's a rechargeable model uh there are no batteries, I just stick it in the charger at night which comes with the hearing aids, this is right it goes in the right hand side. I wake up in the morning and it's charged so there's no maintenance, or batteries, buying batteries, and storing batteries that sort of thing like that. Third I chose this because it has a button on the top that you can control right here, you can control it locally with the hearing aid itself or Resound has an app that you can use on your smartphone. You can control it from your smartphone if you have bluetooth. I chose this model because I use the bluetooth a lot that's mostly how I control it. I have 4 programs situated in this hearing aid. And one is for normal hearing which is uh like we are now, one is for noisy environments such as restaurants and things like that, one is for outside and uh one is for music. So, also as a side note I struggle with tinnitus, uh ringing in the ears. Resound provides a tinnitus app which I downloaded to my smartphone and I can play various sounds that help overcome the ringing and I find this very helpful. So, would I recommend these hearing aids? Absolutely. I've owned these ReSound Omnias for about 3 months and they have been great, I’ve had no issues with them whatsoever. As I previously mentioned, these ReSound Omias are my 4th set of hearing aids. My previous 3 sets were made by Starkey, which I purchased through a local hearing specialist brick and mortar store. I was happy with the Starkey hearing aids but my last pair was about 6 years old and technology had passed it by. So I probably would have stayed with the Starkey, but my hearing, my ZipHearing specialist Sean Buttler recommended the ReSound hearing aids and I’m completely satisfied, I’m glad he did. Not to mention the fact that I saved a significant amount of money going through ZipHearing. So if I had one piece of advice for anybody who is considering hearing aids, I would say contact ZipHearing and they'll put you in touch with a hearing specialist that can analyze your hearing problem and provide a recommendation on a model that you can try before you buy, okay? Thank you very much.
