What we love about Picasso

Unmatched Comfort iconUnmatched Comfort

When you wear an in-the-ear hearing aid, nothing is more important than the physical fit. Starkey knows how to build custom hearing aids. After all, they began as an earmold company and were an early adopter of 3D printing.

Pioneering Design iconPioneering Design

As a leader in custom hearing aids, Starkey pioneered the IIC invisible-in-canal style hearing aid. Starkey Picasso’s IIC model sits deep in the second bend of the ear canal, completely invisible to others.

Feedback Cancellation iconFeedback Cancellation

Starkey’s best-in-class feedback cancellation ensures your hearing aids won’t make that annoying whistling sound that so many hearing aids do.

Starkey Picasso

Because no two ears are alike

As of August 31, 2021, Picasso is an outdated model. If you're interested in Picasso, we'd recommend checking out the next generation model, Evolv AI.

There are sometimes good reasons to purchase an outdated model, but in most cases we'd recommend taking a look at the newer model.

For example, if you're looking for a Starkey hearing aid in the ITC or ITE style which uses disposable batteries, Picasso will be your best choice, as these models aren't available in the Evolv AI lineup.

I recommend them 100%

Review by: Scott from PA
Model: Starkey Picasso 2400 ITC
Bought: Mar 2021

Hello my name is Scott and I’m from Freedom, PA and I’m here to talk to you today, to review the Starkey Picasso in-the-ear, i2400 hearing aids. I’ve been wearing hearing aids now for the last 27 years and I really was self conscious about people seeing stuff in my ears, but the in-the-ear, makes it very unnoticeable. I like the hearing aids, I like the technology, with the Starkey hearing aids. Again, there’s so many things you can do with the hearing aid as I could never do before. I have a little button on my hearing aid where I can just push it, I can hit normal, I can hit crowd, I can hit television if I’m on the television, it automatically changes if I’m on the telephone. Just the technology in the last 27 years has been unbelievable with the Starkey. They’re US made, they take a 312 battery, I’m getting consistently 7 to 8 days on a battery, and again they’re just little batteries. I recommend them 100%, I’m very happy with Starkey, and I’m sure if I’m happy you’ll be definitely happy with them. Thank you

Size is perfect

The sound quality is excellent. The size of the hearing aids are perfect and. They are not noticeable. I am very pleased with my purchase. The controls on the aids are easy to use and I especially like the crowd noise control. I have used Starkey hearing aids for about 7 years and my new ones the best ones I've owned.

Great product Starkey!

I purchased Starkey I2400 in the ear hearing aids. I have never been more happier. The clarity of my hearing aids can be controlled by a push of a button. I can push for loud conditions push when watching tv and when I’m on the telephone it switches or I can push on normal sounds. My batteries are lasting from 7 to 8 days. I can volume up or down by a push of a button. Great product Starkey!!!

Common questions about Starkey Picasso hearing aids

Bluetooth / ConnectivityDisposable BatteriesControls/AppsMiscellaneous

Choose questions category:

Is this hearing aid Bluetooth compatible?
The wireless (i) models of Picasso are Bluetooth compatible, but they can't directly connect to any phones. To get Bluetooth functionality, you'll need the Surflink Surflink Mini Mobile accessory, which creates a Bluetooth connection between Picasso hearing aids and your phone.
Does this hearing aid allow for hands-free phone calls?
Yes, but only if you purchase the Mini Mobile accessory. The microphone on the unit picks up your voice for the caller to hear, so you don't have to hold the phone to your mouth. Their voice will be streamed through the hearing aids.
Can this hearing aid be paired directly to my Bluetooth TV?
No. To stream audio from the TV you'll need the Surflink Media 2 device. You'll also need to ensure that whichever hearing aid model you order is "wireless." Just let us or your hearing provider know you want to do TV streaming and we'll make sure the correct devices are ordered.
How long do the batteries last?
The IIC and CIC models that use a size 10 battery will last 2-5 days. The ITC model that uses a 312 battery should last 4-6 days, and the ITE with a 13 battery might get you a little over a week.
How will I know when it's time to change the battery?
When the battery is low, you'll hear a spoken notification through the hearing aid that says "battery." Then, 10-15 minutes later, you'll hear a long tone, and the hearing aid will die shortly after that unless the battery is replaced.
Are the batteries hard to change?
The smaller models (IIC and CIC), which use a small size 10 battery, can definitely be hard to change if you have poor dexterity. Considering that these batteries need changing every few days, if you think it may be a challenge, it's much better to buy a model with a bigger battery.
How can I control this hearing aid, and which settings can I control?
Wireless (i) models can be controlled via a push button or the Surflink Remote Control, and you can change the volume and program. Non wireless models can be controlled via the push button, or the T2 app, and you can change the volume and program. The Picasso IIC model does not have room for a push button.
How do I turn this hearing aid on and off?
To turn the hearing aid on, simply close the battery door. Opening the battery door will turn the hearing aid off.
Is this hearing aid CROS compatible?
Picasso is not CROS compatible. Starkey currently does not have a CROS compatible custom in-the-ear hearing aid.
Can I get this hearing aid with a telecoil?
The ITE and ITC models do have telecoils as an option, so if you want this, be sure to let your hearing provider know at time of ordering.
What does the (i) mean that I see listed next to some Picasso models?
That means the hearing aid is, as Starkey calls it "wireless." But don't let that confuse you- none of these models require wires. Starkey just gives the (i) wireless designation to models that are compatible with Starkey's wireless Surflink accessories (for streaming audio). So if you think you want to use Surflink accessories, it's important to let your hearing care provider know ahead of time, so they can order the (i) model for you.

Apps (by popularity)

RATING1
The image of T2 Remote hearing aids
T2 Remote

T2 Remote

This app serves as a remote control for your hearing aids, allowing you to change the volume and program. Simply hold your phone near your ear while pressing a button in the app to make the change you desire. Your phone will then emit a sound, which the hearing aid interprets as instructions to make the change you requested.

Relax

Suffer from tinnitus? This is the app for you. This app allows you to customize 12 different soothing relief sounds by modifying the volume, frequency response, and rate of fluctation, providing you with highly-personalized relief sounds for your unique tinnitus. If your hearing aids are iPhone compatible, or on select Android devices running 10, you can then stream these sounds directly to your hearing aids. In all other cases, you'd need the Surflink Mini Mobile device to stream these sounds to your hearing aids.

Surflink Mini Mobile, $199

Surflink Mini Mobile, $199

Want to stream audio like music, phone calls, and podcasts from your smartphone to your hearing aids? This device is a must-have, giving you Bluetooth connectivity between your hearing aids and phone. Mini Mobile also allows you to have hands free phone calls, as the microphone on the unit picks up your voice for the caller to hear, so you don't have to hold the phone to your mouth. And if you have a hard time hearing in noise, Mini Mobile also works as a remote microphone, which can be a lifesaver. Attach the Mini Mobile to a companion's shirt and their voice will stream directly to your hearing aids. Their voice will come through much stronger than all the competing noise in the environment.

Surflink Media 2, $349

Plug it into the back of your TV or soundbar and the audio will be streaned directly to your hearing aids. Others can keep the TV at their preferred volume level, while you set your own volume via the app or on the hearing aids themselves.

Surflink Remote Microphone 2, $249

Surflink Remote Microphone 2, $249

This almost the same thing as the Surflink Mini Mobile (it's a remote microphone), but the difference is, this accessory doesn't offer Bluetooth connectivity to smartphones by default- it's just a remote microphone. As an optional add on, you can however plug in Starkey's Surflink Mini Mobile Adapter to this accessory, which then gives you Bluetooth streaming, and essentially turns this device into the Surflink Mini Mobile.
