They have become unreliable

At first I loved my hearing aids but now they have become unreliable! I think there is something definitely wrong with the right one as at times I’ve gotten ear- piercing feedback that caused great pain in my ear. Also, sometimes I can’t control the volume with my cell phone. I’m really wondering if they’re defective!

I am extremely satisfied with the hearing aids

I have used hearing aids for almost 9 years. I knew that I wanted to check out some of the new technologies that are available to improve my hearing even better. I was still having trouble hearing properly in crowd situations(restaurants, meetings with background noise, etc). In November 2021 I started looking on the internet and found out about the new Starkey Evolv AI with Edge technologies and decided to give it some research. The Evolve AI had only been out a few months so there was very little known for reviews. The properties of the Evolve AI really intrigued me, so I decided to investigate further. I had seen the ZipHearing clips on YouTube, so I decided to give them a try. I am not sorry that I did. The response was very prompt and rewarding. They referred me to a local Hearing aid consultant and I ended up ordering my Evolves. The transaction saved me well over two thousand dollars over what my previous consultant was asking. I am extremely satisfied with the hearing aids and the support up to now has been terrific.

Never knew my turn signals clicked before!

Sound quality of the Starkey Evolve has allowed me to hear previously unheard things. I can now hear my turn signals clicking if I leave them on. Never knew my turn signals clicked before! I can hear the words to songs on the radio again. The detail of what I hear is what is awesome... it’s not simply louder.... but I now hear the details! The connectivity of the phone and the aids are amazing! The app is amazing... Buck Rodgers stuff!

Extremely satisfied but still getting used to them

My hearing professional is still fine tuning the hardware and I'm still getting used to the "new" sounds vis-a-vis how my brain reacts/interprets those sounds. I tried some 'high-dollar aids a couple years ago and couldn't justify the high cost versus the marginal hearing improvement. These new devices from Starkey are 'high hundreds' of dollars less expensive and 500% more effective. I am a very happy camper !!

I couldn’t be happier with my Evolv hearing aids

I couldn’t be happier with my Evolv hearing aids. It’s great to understand people and.the tv again. I would recommend zip hearing to anyone needing hearing aids.

The hearing aids are great

The hearing aids are great. Easy to use...with excellent sound quality. First time with rechargeable hearng aids...found it hassle free. The devices pick up higher ranges much more clearly than my prior devices.

Sound quality shockingly good. Internal ear buds very comfortable. Only reason didn't give it 5 stars b/c I'm still tweaking right ear bud size, but that should resolve in a week or so as I compare relative sizes/comfort/fit, etc. Thrive app is easy to use. Surprised by low reviews on that app. Maybe there are better ones out there that I just don't know about.

Great to hear again

I can't believe all the sounds I was missing. I was very reluctant to explore hearing aids for all the obvious reasons. The great news is that todays aids fit inside your ear and are almost totally unseen by anyone else. They are easy to operate and with ZipHearing they are affordable too. Don't waste another minute not hearing the sounds of life.

They changed my life!!

I hate and usually don't write reviews, but am happy to write this one. I acclimated to the aids immediately, they are very comfortable even with glasses on. They cut my constant and fairly loud tinnitus by 80% The sound quality is amazing! There are so many things you can do to tweak the settings to accommodate to the environment you are in. I mostly leave them alone because they do it automatically. The first week I went to a concert, shopping, and to a noisy restaurant. They made an amazing difference. No one noticed them. If you are shy about hearing aids don't be they will change your life. They are worth every penny.

Would recommend

The hearing quality of the Starkey Evolv AI 2400 is very good and would recommend others needing maximum hearing assistance get these units. The units have bluetooth input from my iphone and makes parking lot calls intelligible.

Can this hearing aid be paired directly to my Bluetooth TV?

If you have wireless Evolv AI hearing aids and a second generation Amazon Fire TV Cube, you can stream audio directly from the TV to Evolv AI hearing aids. If not, you'll need Starkey's TV Streamer accessory to stream audio.

Is this hearing aid Bluetooth compatible?

Evolv AI is Made for iPhone, which means it can connect directly with iPhones to stream music, phone calls, and more. Evolv AI is also compatible with the new Android protocol, Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA), allowing direct streaming from select Android devices with Android 10 and Bluetooth 5.0. If your phone isn't directly compatible with Evolv AI, you can still get Bluetooth functionality via the Remote Microphone +.

Does this hearing aid allow for hands-free phone calls?

In some cases, yes. If you have an iPhone 11 or newer, running on iOS 15.1 or newer, and you have any Evolv AI model other than the IIC NW or CIC NW models, then you'll be able to talk on the phone hands-free. If you have any other phone or operating system, hands-free talking on the phone requires the Remote Mic + accessory. This will allow you to keep your phone in your pocket/purse, etc, and the microphone on the accessory will pick up your voice so the caller can hear you. If you have the IIC NW or CIC NW models, neither of these will allow hands-free calling, as they are not compatible with the Remote MIC + accessory.

How many hours a day do the batteries last?

On a full charge, your hearing aids will last about 24 hours if you do no streaming. If you do stream, that number could drop to around 16 hours.

What is the lifespan of the rechargeable batteries?

Your battery will last a minimum of 3 years. After that point, your Starkey provider will send your hearing aid to Starkey for a battery replacement. We expect most providers to charge between $150-$250 per device for this service.

How will I know when my battery needs to be charged?

When the battery is low, you'll hear a spoken notification through the hearing aid that says "battery." Then, 10-15 minutes later, you'll hear a long tone, and the hearing aid will die shortly after that and will require charging before use.

What if I'm on-the-go and my battery dies?

The battery should last long enough that this isn't an issue. If you're concerned about this, you have a few options. First, the Standard Charger that comes included with your order can be used to charge the hearing aids so long as you can plug the charger in to a power source. Second, if you have Starkey's Mini Turbo Charger, you can turbo charge your hearing aids in just 7 minutes, getting you 3.5 hours of power, and that charger has it's own on-board battery so it does not need to be plugged in to charge hearing aids, and that makes it a good mobile charging solution. Third, if you have the Starkey Premium Charger, that charger has it's own built-in battery which stores 3 full reserve charges, so you can charge your hearing aids that way, without needing access to electricty, also making that charger a good mobile charging option.

How long does it take to get a full charge?

The hearing aids will be fully charged in less than 3.5 hrs, providing 24 hours of power.

Does the charger include a dehumidifier?

Yes, the charger has a built-in compartment for a dessicant puck (included), for dehumidifying the aids.

How long do the batteries last?

Battery life will vary depending on a number of factors. In general, expect 3-5 days from 312 models, and 5-6 days from 13 battery models.

How will I know when it's time to change the battery?

Are the batteries hard to change?

For most people, no, the size 312 and 13 batteries are large enough to easily handle. But if you're concerned with this, we recommend getting a rechargeable model so you don't have to change the batteries.

How do I turn this hearing aid on and off?

If you use a model that takes disposable batteries, simply open the battery door to turn the hearing aid off, and when you close it, the aid will turn on. If you use a rechargeable model, the aid will automatically turn off when you put it back in it's charger, and will turn on when you take it out. To turn a rechargeable aid off manually, just press and hold the pushbutton for 3 seconds. Repeat to turn it back on.

How can I control this hearing aid, and which settings can I control?

Using either the onboard rockerswitch, push button, or the handheld remote, you can control the volume and program, and on some models, "Edge Mode." You can also activate Edge Mode using the Thrive app, and you also have access to an equalizer that lets you adjust the base and treble of the hearing aids. Please note that the smallest Evolv AI style (IIC), cannot be controlled via the Thrive App, and also does not have room for an onboard push button. The only way to control the Evolv AI IIC model is via Starkey's T2 app, and via that app you can control the volume and program of the hearing aids.

Does the app have a “Find My Hearing Aid” feature?

Yes, but it in order for this feature work, your phone and hearing aids must've been paired before the hearing aids were lost. If they were, and you lose your hearing aids, the app will tell you show you a location on a map, where the hearing aids were last connected to the phone.

Which models have Edge Mode?

All models with a tech level of greater than 1200 have Edge Mode, and all models have except the IIC NW and CIC NW have Edge Mode .

How do I activate Edge Mode?

With the 2400 tech level, Edge Mode can be activated by double "air tapping" near the near the hearing aid, via a push button on the hearing aid, or through the Thrive Hearing Control app. With the 2000 and 1600 tech levels, Edge Mode can only be activated via the Thrive Hearing Control app.
