I have tried both the Widex Unique Passion 440 and the Phonak Audeo B90-R over a few day trial period. Both have a very clean sound in the office. Because I have a degree in Electrical Engineering I decided to look a little deeper into the operation and my perception of the differences. My internet searches on both Hearing Aids (HA) did not give me a lot of specific information (not surprising). I was looking for a rechargeable unit, but once I tried the Widex with a battery it didn’t seem that, the fact that a hearing aid was rechargeable alone would significantly sway my decision.
I tried both in background noise situations. Both were acceptable, but this, I have to admit is a subjective observation. No two situations are the same. In windy condition I did notice notice a difference. The Widex had more of a hissing sound where as the Phonak seemed to take the hissing part of the sound out and what I heard was something more like when pills are shaken in a bottle. I liked the Phonak wind sound better. The Phonak hearing aid has a higher battery voltage and in general this allows design engineers more latitude in there design. When I’m wearing the Phonak hearing aid I don’t get the sense that I even have them on. I decided that the Phonak Audeo B90-R was the hearing aid I would choose for myself.
I am wearing the newest Phonak B-R 90 with no batteries, just charge while you are sleeping. So far so good. These are my first hearing aids and they are more than I expected on ease of performance, and ZipHearing has responded to each question I have and been more than cooperative.
Day one , going from Resounds top of the line to Phonaks Audeo B90R rechargeable. Issues with the Resounds not working for me I believe , are too many owner options for settings. Not being an Audiologist , I wasted time trying to find a decent setting for dining , outdoor activities with grandkids and working acerage with a tractor . Each person is different in their capabilities and I found myself lacking in this arena . So far Phonak has done the job with automatic settings and adjustments . I went everywhere I could on the way home to test them out . Stores , restaurants , grandkids , phone calls , you name it. So far so good !! Like the rechargeable option as well. I'd bring extra batteries but then forget them in the car , just another hassle to avoid. No issues with changing brands , talked to my audiologist , got on the phone with Ziphearing and it's a done deal . Kept the Resounds until the Phonaks arrived at no cost to me. Love the aids , love the company . They stand true to their word . A rare thing these days !

This is the only way to buy hearing aids! Most any kind of model you might desire can be purchased through the ZipHearing network - and I saved a significant amount of money, about $1400 - and got a year's worth of batteries at no cost. Explore the site and then call.
I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND ZipHearing.com. They saved me $1,300 and connected me with an excellent local company, plus gave me a year supply of hearing aid batteries. I am a completely satisfied customer. Highly recommended!
I contacted ZipHearing and received a great pair of hearing aids for way below the cost that the hearing center was asking. It's a great way to save a lot of money on state of the art products and I'm glad I found them before paying full price. Service is excellent as well.
