Widex Moment

Hello, I’m Bob and I’ve got a story to tell about the Widex Moment 440 hearing aid. I’m 75 years old and I’m a retired physician, and I have had a hearing loss for about, oh, almost 12 years, and in those 12 years I’ve tried 5 different major manufacturers of hearing aids, and haven’t found one until now, that duplicates the high and low frequencies and the onset of sound, the crescendos, in music, popular music, classical music, it’s just a remarkable amount of authenticity and immediacy to listening to music, I mean, like I was 20 to 30 years younger than my 75 years of age. So I chose these hearing aids because I read about, a long review, done by Michael Fremer, who for 30 or more years, has been a contributing editor to stereophine magazine, he wore these hearing aids for 2 months, and highly recommended them, in the “pure sound” mode for listening to classical or any other kind of music, and I thought, this is what I really want to try and I was amazed at how good they do sound with music as well as speech recognition, all the nuances, the settings are amazing, so I really think there’s all sorts of good reasons to get the Widex Moment 440 hearing aids, I can’t think of anything as a drawback, and the one piece of advice I would give to anyone considering hearing aids is, find one that you enjoy, particularly in terms of hearing people clearly, and hearing music in a way that you haven’t heard for years. Mead Killion who is a dean of audiology and an expert of music replication, feels that the Widex alone is a hearing aid that really does an amazing job of replicating the immediacy and the power of music. So that’s the highest recommendation I think a person can offer. And here’s what they look like- that is the Widex Moment, the 440, great hearing aid, can’t say enough good things about it. Hi my name is Suzanne. I’m 87 years old and I live in the rocky mountains in Colorado and I wear hearing aids. I’ve had hearing aids for about 10 years but these are my new ones and they’re made by Widex. And uh, I couldn't be happier with them. Um, the ones I had before were Starkeys. They were good but they weren't programmable to the extent that these ones are which allows me to uh be in a public place and get rid of the extraneous noise around me or watch TV and hear voices really clearly, or listen to someone on my left, or of course listen to music. And a lot of musicians apparently choose Widex. I did a lot of research online before I chose these and I am really glad I did. This is the charging unit that the hearing aids go in and it uh sits by my bed at night and charges them completely by morning. Um, yea my hearing has been deteriorating for about 10 years and its ironic that I come from a family by my mother’s side where both my grandparents were deaf and I never had any idea what it means to be unable to hear clearly. I thought it meant everything was just quieter but it doesn't mean that. Iy means you can hear certain things in words but not other things I know I can hear the consonants butnot the vowels. It just is a lot of effort to try and hear and you can't without hearing aids. But the advice I would give to people who are thinking about getting hearing aids is do a lot of research online, that is certainly what I did. I happen to love the Widex because they are really good for music and I love music as well as words. What Is a little challenging for me is that the phone comes through my ears through the hearing aids and so if the phone rings I hear it in here, so if I am in the other room far from where the phone is then I have to come because it is ringing in my ear. I have to go and get the hearing aids and if I am talking to someone I have to remember to take the phone with me if I am going to be walking away from where the phone is. Let’s say I am in the kitchen and I am going to the sink to do something, if I leave the phone on my desk when I am talking, the person on the other end would say “I’m losing you, I’m losing you” so these are just things to get adjusted to. And the fact that It takes a couple of months for the brain to connect to the hearing, the changes in your hearing with the hearing aids. I couldn't be happier with these and I would recommend them to anyone

My name is Larry and I live in San Diego County, California. These are my first hearing aids, I decided that because of my wife’s continuously telling me I need hearing aids, I probably should try them. So I went to an audiologist and found this pretty good deal at ZipHearing and I’ve worked with ZipHearing and my audiologist to get me a pair of Widex 440s, which are my current brand, and they look like this, quite simple, easy to install, just put over your ear, push it in the ear, and do that. Don’t need a mirror or anything. I chose the Widex 440s because it was what my audiologist recommended after I tried ReSound and it didn’t work. We have a charger here, so I just put them in each night and they’re fine. I chose this hearing aid I said because the first one didn’t work and the audiologist recommended it. And what I like about it is the sound is good. I can hear my wife well, it’s a pretty clear and natural sound to me. My hearing loss was in the high frequency end which is pretty common for people my age. And so now what I like about it is I can hear my kids, my grand kids, my wife, and the TV better than I could before. So I’m happy with them. What I like about them is the streaming music is really good, I put on my Pandora, I Bluetooth it to my hearing aids, and it really sounds good, they’re essentially as good as a pair of Airpods, so I like them a lot, I listen to music a lot. What I don’t like about them is their application program for restaurants doesn’t seem to work very well, it doesn’t filter out the noise and the background noise in the restaurant, and the same is true I think when I’m using the focus forward TV sound you know just trying to get the TV when there’s other distractions it doesn’t have that forward focus like other hearing aids I’ve tried do. Yeah I’d recommend these hearing aids to people, especially if you listen to a lot of music. These are the Widex 440 RDs. I would recommend these to a friend. Compared to what I had before, I started few months ago with ReSound ONE 7s and I really liked them, except for the sounds always came in at a higher pitched tone, the high frequency stuff had like a lisp to it, so most of the sound was like kind of lispy, so I didn’t like that as much. What I did like with the ReSound ONE 7s is the restaurant focus, filtering out the background noise, so very good for that. Advice I’d give for someone getting hearing aids is if your first set doesn’t work, try different ones, don’t give up on them.

Hello my name is Michael and I am reviewing the hearing aids that I got a couple months ago, they’re called Widex Moment 440, they’re the top of the line Widex behind the ear hearing aids and I like them a lot. After trying Oticons and Phonaks, both top of the line, I chose these for a couple of reasons, one is as a musician there’s a slight edge in sound quality for music that I appreciate, I’m pretty picky about that. Not only are the Widexs good sounding on their music setting but also my provider was able to dial in exactly the equalization that I wanted, which I asked for based on frequency curves and things that I know sound good to me, and so that was excellent. The other reason that I chose them is the phone app, the phone app is different and better to me than the apps for the other brands because you can design your own program with Widexs and in a very tailor made way and then save it so that if you have your phone with you you can choose something, I created one for noise suppression when there’s like a background fan sound or something like that going on, that’s a little bit better than the default, and there’s all kinds of different things you can create that way, I really appreciate that. The domes are also very comfortable for my ears and I’m gonna show you one of the hearing aids up close, and um, that little rubber dome, this is a small, there’s different sizes, this one has 2 vents which you can’t really see, but that works well for my particular hearing loss, um, which is not a severe hearing loss and it’s um quite a bit of mid range loss so that a closed dome wouldn’t work well for me but these work very well. One downside about the Widexs compared to some other brands is that they have one button and you get to choose, either that button is going to control which program, or it’s going to control the volume, but it won’t do both, you get to specify one or the other and that really bothers me because those are 2 things I want to control on demand whenever I need to. There is a workaround, I got this, this is called an RC-DEX that Widex makes, it’s a little remote control unit that you can carry on your keychain, in your pocket and it connects by Bluetooth to the hearing aids and you can control both of those 2 things. So that’s the workaround, of course you can also control it from your phone app but that’s not always convenient, sometimes you want something a little less obvious or less bulky to carry around. So that’s one downside, I saved a couple of thousand dollars by going through ZipHearing, that was amazing, and ZipHearing has contracted with a local provider here in Santa Cruz, Ca who has been great, I really appreciate that provider. As far as advice to people choosing hearing aids I would say don’t settle for something you’re not really happy with. Either go back to the provider to get it really dialed in, I think I’ve been back about 5 times to get the sound of these dialed in the way that I like and also the right domes and everything. So I would do that, or just choose a different model, as you can tell I’ve been through several different models and any provider should be happy to let you return and try different models. This is a big investment and it’s a really important thing for your day to day life so it’s worth really getting it to be what you want it to be. And the technology is there to make these work amazingly well, so once again I recommend the Widex Moment 440 and good luck in your search for the best hearing aid.

Hello my name is Jim and I’m here to tell you about my new hearing aids, the Widex Moment. I’ve worn hearing aids probably for over a dozen years, I have a history of hearing loss, particularly high frequencies, I have difficulty understanding people and separating words and particularly higher frequencies, higher pitched voices. And I previously owned some Widex hearing aids but they were the old ones that required batteries, and I’m real happy with the Widex Moment that I got a couple months ago actually, and you can see they’re quite small and, when I wear them, they’re hardly visible at all, most people don’t even know that I’m wearing them. Couple things that I like about these hearing aids, #1, the digital adjustment that they make is just phenomenal. I was having some difficulty separating some sounds and they tweaked them and it made a huge difference and the adjustments they can make are endless. I really love the recharge, and no longer do I have to carry batteries with, try to find batteries, or have batteries die at the least opportune moment. Instead I have a charger here that I just keep plugged into a USB port next to my bed, every night I take off my hearing aids, just put them in there, and every morning when I get up they’re fully charged. I have never had the charge run out on me and I wear them most days all day long, from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. So, it’s really a nice feature. Another thing that I really like about these that I didn’t have before is the Bluetooth capability, where these automatically hook to my phone so if I have a phone call come in, or I’m listening to anything on the phone it automatically goes to my hearing aids and I really like that. The one thing I found that these don’t do very well with although, through Bluetooth, you can stream music from your phone for example, to hear that on your hearing aids, but they’re just not made for music and high quality sound like that so, if you ever compare them to Airpods or anything like that I think you’ll be disappointed, but face it that’s not what they’re designed for. I am a college professor and have had difficulty hearing students, particularly during the pandemic and students were wearing masks, I can’t see them, I can’t see what they’re saying, I can’t read their lips any longer, and so being able to get the newest technology of hearing aids has really helped me in the classroom, helped me understand students. It helps me a great deal in my relationship because I don’t have to ask my wife to repeat herself all the time. Anyway I strongly recommend the Widex Moment hearing aid, I think that it’s just, it’s amazing the quality of life when you’re able to hear, and you feel a part of things again, in many cases, when I kinda felt left out when I couldn’t hear things, or I couldn’t follow conversations, particularly in situations where there was a lot of background noise. One of the beauties of the Widex Moment is that you have the capability to filter out a lot of that background noise. Like I said the adjustments are endless, the ability to adjust them yourself and setup custom settings on your phone is wonderful, and certainly the professionals that I’ve had to assist me throughout the process with these hearing aids has just been wonderful, so, I recommend them wholeheartedly and definitely think that if you’re having trouble hearing I think it’s definitely something that you should look into. Of course I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about ZipHearing and the fact that they made it very easy for me to get these hearing aids, they were very responsive and quite frankly was able to get these high quality Widex hearing aids at a much lower cost than I could anywhere else, but they were responsive, I was able to get them very quickly, and the professional help I’ve had in fitting and adjusting them has been top notch. So definitely recommend them and like I said if you’re having difficulty hearing or are interested in upgrading your hearing aids I think this is definitely a wise choice. Hope this has helped.

Hello my name is Jay, I’m a retired disability specialist, I live in Ocean City, Maryland, and I’m here to to talk about my choice of hearing aids, which in this instance is Widex Moment 110 model. My hearing loss history is basically a gradual degradation, and moderate degradation of hearing that I became aware of when I had difficulty listening to my wife speak to me, in a relatively normal tone of voice, and I would kind of like catch it mid way, missing like the subject of the sentence and I would had to ask her about that, and then she would kinda raise her voice to make it more clear for me to understand and sometimes I would get that adrenaline rush in the back of my neck, and not very pleasant, so I agreed to get my hearing tested and you know, if it ended up that I really could use some help in this area that I would have no problem getting a hearing aid system. And that’s what happened you know I got tested and I found out that I had a moderate degree of degradation especially in my left ear, especially regarding the treble or high end range of the sonic spectrum. So, I had seen a promotional video by the guitarist from the band Toto and he was raving about these Widex hearing aids. I’m a guitarist and I still play and I love listening to music, and you know he was speaking to me, I kinda understand what he was saying, especially when he was talking about dynamic range and things like that. So you know after I found out that because of my age and because I’m a Medicare recipient that you know, most of this would be paid for, this is a pretty expensive system, you know I decided to go right off the bat with this system that the guy from Toto recommended. This is what they look like, they’re, you know you can’t see them when they’re in. This is the charger, this is the right hearing aid, this is kind of a charger you can take with you, this is like the travel case in case you don’t want to wear them, instruction manuals, cleaning system, this is the guide to the Widex Moment application which is really neat because you have some set patterns for different hearing situations like for music or for speaking some one you know vis-a-vis, face to face, and a third selection if you’re in a noisy room with like boomy acoustics or something like that, it kinda like mutes the background noise, and then you have customizable settings that you can make up your own setting, and you can adjust the treble, you can adjust the mid range, you can adjust the base, it’s very nice, it’s very cool, you just download the app, it’s free, get it, hook it up, Bluetooth, Bluetooth is included, so it’s a very modern system. What I like about it the most is you know I can hear when I put this in, so it does what they advertise it to. What I don’t like about it is that it’s expensive, there’s occasional feedback, but you are able to adjust the frequencies and the volume to taste, so that’s just something the more I live with them the better I get at it. So would I recommend this hearing aid to a friend? Yes especially if you’re over age 65 and have Medicare, but I have to give you the caveat that I have no experience with any other brand so this is just me telling you about my experience with the Widex system. And this model is their least prohibitively expensive model, but it’s sufficient to the requirements of the moderate loss of hearing that I experience. The one piece of advice I would give to someone that’s considering purchasing hearing aids is that you gotta be certain you’re not better off not hearing what’s going on the world, I mean there’s a lot of noise and you know, I’m hearing it everyday and you get to hear it really really crystal clear. Of course you can always remove them from your ears, and that’s an option. I had an uncle that never wore his hearing aids because he said there’s nothing worth hearing, except that when I went to talk to him, he put them in!
