Hello my name is Doug, I live in Bloomington, MN, Minneapolis, and I’m about to be 64 years old, and I’ve suffered hearing loss for many years, ever since I was a youth, shooting guns, shotguns, duck hunting with my family, and I’ve been interested in hearing aids for a while now and the hearing aids I chose were the Phonak PR90s, rechargeable, I didn't want to mess with the batteries. I have a close up of my hearing aid here, come out real easy, but they stay in, I guess I can show you. And they got the little kickstand there, and the left and right, I need one in each ear. There’s a little maintenance to them, that’s okay, and then I just pop it back in, a little easier with my glasses off. The main reason I chose this hearing aid was, based on the information I found out, my cousin has Oticons and he really loves them, but they’re not for me, and I have an Android phone, and the Phonaks connect to them very easily, and I do recommend local service. I thought about buying them online, and after talking with Jeff at Zip, I can see how the value of having local help really makes a difference. I’ve had my two week check up and I’ve got another scheduled in two weeks, and again, I like the fact that they’re little, they’re lightweight, I’m getting used to them. I do feel like I have an itch in my ear, but I’m getting used to it and it’s going well. I would recommend Phonaks to other people, I’ve talked to family and friends about them already. I do enjoy the Bluetooth technology and how they connect to each other, and the quick charger and portable carrying case, and they give you some tools to help keep them clean. I have not had any experience with any other hearing aids, I’ve just done a lot of research online, and the number one piece of advice, which my cousin gave to me, which was definitely see an audiologist, a doctor of audiology. Hello my name is Hank and I have the Phonak Audeo, I believe it’s the P90, anyway it’s their top of the line hearing aid in that series and I replaced some almost 6 year old Siemens hearing aids and I would have to say they are far superior to those, which I would expect, being so much newer technology, and there’s really nothing I do not like about them. They, as advertised, connect very well with Bluetooth, I have an iPhone, I don’t know about Android, but the iPhone connects very well. I guess if I did have one complaint, sometimes when I scratch my ear or something it activates the siri as it’s supposed to do, but I guess I’m complaining about it working too well. They’re behind the ear type, this is what they look like, they are totally comfortable I don’t even know I’m wearing them. They stay in the ear well, the app has some features, one that I like is if you’re in a relatively small room with a half dozen or so people and there’s people in there that are what I call low talkers, it’d be hard to hear even if you had good hearing, you can adjust the focus in to just towards that person and you can adjust it where soft sounds are loud and so I’ll go into the app and manually make those settings for a meeting of that type. And then the rest of the time I just leave it on the automatic, it’ll sense and it does, I’ve read some people having complaints about that switching off and on but I haven’t had that. It’ll switch when you get in your car, or it does for me, and watching tv sometimes it’ll switch. Usually I don't even notice that. But the automatic setting is where I keep it most of the time. The sound quality to me is really good, the only thing I have to compare it with is my six year old hearing aids and it’s just way better than that. So I’m happy with them. No complaints. Maybe the app could use a little work, but as far as the hearing aids themselves, they just work really well. If you’re watching a youtube video on your iPhone it just automatically goes through the hearing aids and the sound quality is quite good. So you’re not bothering people, which is nice, if you’re watching something on a Youtube or facebook video or something like that and it does it seamlessly automatic, haven’t had any issues with Bluetooth connectivity at all. So that is my rating of these, I guess if I had the opportunity to go back in time and decide to do something else I’d still go with these, I think they were worth the price difference for the top end. Hi my name is Chris, this is a review for the Phonak Paradise P90 hearing aids. Now I will say, my history with hearing aids, I wore a CIC variant before, I wore it for about a week and ended up returning it. I’d been to a couple audiologists, the one recommended by ZipHearing was great, and he recommended these, these are an RIC version, I think they only come in the RIC. I was hesitant at first, I wanted them to be very discreet, I’m younger, just didn’t want people at work to know I wore hearing aids, as I imagine most of you are like. My audiologist convinced me, “hey, just give it a try you would be surprised.” I would say these are very discreet, the RIC style even, they are by far, worlds better sounding than the others that I have tried, they sound very natural, it doesn’t sound like there is a speaker, and they’re so light and small, I frequently forget that I’m wearing them. I’ve showered with them 3 times in a matter of 4 months since I first got these, but, you can see, couple things I wanted to point out, I think the ZipHearing description mentions there’s a vented dome, this is the style, you can see the tip that I go with, it is great, there’s a ton of airflow, I have about 60% hearing loss, so, he mentioned a CIC version would restrict the hearing that I currently have, and this would help kind of, accent it, or compliment my current hearing. So I like it, it’s really really tiny. I really wanted one with Bluetooth connectivity, these have it. I will say it’s easy to make calls on them, you can hear pretty clearly. Now, the Bluetooth does have room for improvement, don’t think it’s the end all be all, but there is that connectivity, you can stream music through them and hear it perfectly. It really doesn’t eat battery life. One of the features I like the best is the rechargeability. So this case is actually how you charge them, there’s no battery you have to replace at any given time. One piece of advice, or recommendation I should say, if you do get these, in order to recharge them, there’s a plug on the back. Now, you can buy an accessory which I have, on here, this bottom piece is actually a battery pack, but this way, when I take them out, you can see the battery pack charger, this piece, covers up what the current case looks like, but I like it because I can put them in the case without it being on the charger, and they automatically start charging and disconnect from my phone. If you were to just have the case itself, it would have to be plugged in. And really they’re great, I would highly recommend these. This is my third pair of hearing aids to try and like I said I returned the two others, this is over the course of a few years, within the 100 day period, but these are definitely a keeper, I use them 10-12 hours a day, I’ve had no problems with it sounding kind of stereo-like. I will stay occasionally it will pick up, if there’s really heavy wind, you’ll catch some wind noise, but that’s about all that I notice. Another excellent feature of these hearing aids is they have a setting that auto adjusts based on your on your environment, so with the hearing aid versions I had before, if I was in a restaurant it would be one setting, or watching TV another setting, or a conference call for work would be another. These I have, I’ve messed around with the settings a little bit, via the iPhone app, but I will say the AutoSense, the AI feature, is what I go with about 100% of the time. So pretty amazing, if you’re on the fence between two pairs I highly recommend this one. You can see mine look a little unique, the color of these I think is chestnut, because I have brown hair. I was worried about these sticking out, I wore them for 5 stays in the office, no one had said anything, and then I casually brought up that you know, I had to get hearing aids, and pointed to them to someone that works and sits right behind me and she was shocked and said oh my gosh I did not even notice you had them in and it had been a full week like I said, so again, very discreet and very very tiny. I love these things and highly recommend them.

Hello everyone, my name is St. Nicholas. I’m over here in sunny California, I’m in my very early thirties, and am currently a doctorate student, working on my doctorate. I grew up with hearing loss and my entire life I’ve always been that one kid that couldn’t hear. I also grew up with heart problems, I was always that one kid with a bad heart. I lived through the evolution of the analog to digital hearing aids. When I was a kid, I used to have to carry a very heavy box around my neck, and people had to use a microphone to speak to me, it’s kind of crazy when you think about it today. I recently picked up some Phonak Audeo Paradise 90 Life, yeah, that’s a mouthful, but it’s well worth it, trust me. This is the newest and the best hearing aid I feel that’s on the market as of 2022. They just came out just a few short weeks ago in January 2022 and they are far superior to any I have ever tried after decades of trying hearing aids. So these are the hearing aids, right here, take a look at them. I have bilateral hearing loss and so I need a hearing aid in both ears. They’re very easy to put in, and they don’t cause much of a problem, they’re hardly noticeable especially when my hairs a little bit longer, almost nobody knows I have hearing aids on and they’re super sleek black, there’s all kinds of colors, I preferred just plain black just because it blends with my hair the best and when my hairs a little bit longer you can barely notice them, even when my hairs short, you’re barely noticing them when I’m moving around. Barely noticeable, very small, very powerful, I love them. I also have this case that came with them, it’s actually a charging case, because the hearing aids are rechargeable. The case looks pretty bad ass, I think it’s a pretty nice case, it holds both of them, and if you look really closely inside of these you’re barely gonna see anything inside of them, because there’s no metal contacts, the case uses inductive charging, similar to like a wireless charger for your phone, you don’t have to plug them in, that’s pretty cool. I chose the Phonak Audeo Paradise 90 Life, because it is made for people like me. The Audeo Paradise Life is designed for people with an active lifestyle. These hearing aids are designed to handle exposure to water, sweat, and daily life. I could hop on a rowing boat without any issue, I could hop on a boat without issue, I could go running, I could ride a bike, I don’t have to worry about sweat, I don’t have to worry about it raining when I’m running late to a meeting, none of that. I chose this hearing aid because they’re fully enclosed, there’s no metal contacts anywhere on the hearing aid. You don’t really see metal anywhere on the hearing aid. All the speaker ports are closed with a special type of plastic, and the microphone port is closed with a special type of plastic so moisture does not bother these hearing aids. I like that I don’t have to be careful about these. In the past, when I went to a park with my friends, I went hiking with my family, I decided to go to a gym, or anything else that might involve sweat on a hot day or just a little bit of water, I had to take my hearing aids out because I couldn’t risk damaging them because they’re so expensive. Now when your friends and family are trying to talk to you when you’re doing activities and you don’t have the hearing aids, it sucks, you suck at hearing, it’s because you don’t understand them. It’s so isolating. With these, I’m not afraid to take them out. This case, going back to this case, check out any other hearing aid on the market and tell me how many of the cases are rechargeable.. Not very many. Now, what do you notice about this case? It’s not plugged in right now. And when I open it, barely noticeable on the camera but look at that, the lights show up. It doesn’t need to be plugged in to charge your hearing aids. That’s pretty cool. It uses a USB-C charger, most computers today have it to charge. I could take this on the go, I don’t have to worry about keeping it plugged in. I keep it plugged in at night just because it’s convenient, but I take it with me when I need to go to the barber shop and put my hearing aids away, going on a hike, camping, hospital, I just throw this in my backpack, I’m not afraid of my battery dying, because it doesn’t, and when I need to charge my hearing aids at night or if I’m not using my hearing aids at the time, I just stick them in the case, it only takes 2 hours to get a full day charge, and this not plugged into the power source could charge my hearing aids for about a week, that’s pretty awesome. This is far different than any case I’ve ever seen with any hearing aids and far different from any case Phonak ever released and these just came out in January 2022, for the Phonak Audeo Paradise 90 Life. I use these hearing aids at work, they connect to my computer automatically, there’s no adapters, it uses Bluetooth, it works well on a mac, on any windows computer I tried, my phone and tablet are both connected to it flawlessly, along with my laptop and desktop. My voice doesn’t sound too bad right? It sounds pretty crisp, not much feedback, pretty good, it’s about on par with a high quality microphone. Would you believe me if I told you that I’m speaking through these hearing aids now? You might’ve noticed it when I held up my hearing aids, my voice dropped a little bit. I don’t need to be near my computer or my phone for you to hear me to speak. These do it for me, the microphone is also built into them. If I double tap my ear, on the right side, right up here, top my earlobe, if I double tap it like twice, it activates Siri on my iPhone, just by double tapping my ear. That’s pretty cool. My least favorite thing is, there’s still some cons with it. My least favorite thing I would say, is when I’m watching something on my tablet or my computer and someone calls me, the Bluetooth priority will switch to my phone and that sucks when it’s a spam call or if I’m in a meeting and I forgot to silence my phone or turn off the Bluetooth, it’s just something to be aware about. It’s so much better than I ever had before, it’s a small first world problem. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. So far I’ve had a great experience with these. I’ve had a great experience with many hearing aids over the years. As I said earlier I used to have the kind where you had to speak into a microphone just to talk to my hearing aids. The more recent ones that I had were the ReSound LiNX 3D level 9, which were great, but when you’re connected to your devices, it was hard to switch between devices, it didn’t work with the computer very well, I couldn’t adapt it to the computer very well. I also tried out the Phonak Audeo Paradise 90, the non-Life version, they work beautifully and when these came out ZipHearing switched me over because this is what I was originally looking for and originally wanted. ZipHearing let me try out the other pair just to see if I liked it, the level of technology. Because the Phonak Audeo Paradise 90 Life is the same level of hearing technology in the Phonak Audeo Paradise 90, the difference is the manufacturing process makes this one more water resistant, and is targeted towards the active community. If you’re young, you’re active, you’re always outside, or running to meetings, you’re afraid of sweat, you want to go play disc golf, you want to play some sort of sport, you want to run, walk, job, these are the perfect hearing aids for you, and for me. The number one piece of advice I could give to someone considering purchasing hearing aids is do not be afraid to try them. ZipHearing is okay with you trying hearing aids. I did it, until I found the perfect one for me. So many people would recommend just getting a baseline technology. You could watch Youtube nonstop, it’s always people saying “just get the baseline, just get the baseline, there’s no reason to get the extra features, just get the baseline.” But, I’ve tried the baseline, I’ve tried the premium hearing aids. There have been studies done on these. The premium hearing aids aren’t usually chosen over blind studies anyway, but the reason why I like the premium hearing aids and I think it’s worth the little bit of extra money, is just because I connect to my computer, I’m speaking to you through these hearing aids right now, on my computer, through the Youtube video you’re gonna be watching very shortly. That’s amazing. The baseline improves your hearing greatly, there’s nothing wrong with it, if you want the baseline, go for it. But, as a young person, headphones, airpods, headsets, they are a thing and you’re kind of left out without them. But these, they are my headset. Instead of barely trying to hear through a Bluetooth headset because I can’t turn the volume loud enough, I can’t customize the volume to my specific type of bilateral hearing loss, I don’t need to worry about that, because these hearing aids have it built in. They are amazing. If you lead an active lifestyle, and if you’ve lost hearing aids over and over again due to sweat damage- every single hearing aid I’ve ever had broke due to sweat…these hearing aids are for you. I don’t have to slow down my life anymore, these hearing aids can keep up with me. That is important, they can keep up with me.

Hey everyone my name is Sean, I’m 35 years old and I have mild to moderate hearing loss. So today I’m gonna tell you some pros and cons, about the hearing aids that I have. Mine are the Phonak Audeo Paradise and I really really enjoy them. Starting with the pros, the comfort, it’s way more comfortable than any other hearing aid that I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a lot of them, from Starkey, to Oticon, Signia, and so many more. These ones are by far the most comfortable which is a big deal in picking your hearing aids because you’re gonna be wearing them everyday all day so you want something comfortable. Moving on, there’s literally no feedback sound and that’ a pretty big deal for me because I’ve had other hearing aids in the past where I go to give someone a hug and my hearing aids are whistling and that can be kind of embarrassing. So these ones don’t really have a feedback sound, it doesn’t matter if I’m laying on my head, the left side, the right side, hugging my wife or daughter, there’s no kinda whistles or weird sounds coming out of the hearing aids, so that’s pretty cool, so I covered the feedback, the comfort, the tapping, the tapping for like answering phone calls is really cool. Whenever my phone is ringing it’ll tell me the name of the person whose calling and depending if I want to answer I just tap or don’t tap, but that’s how you answer the phone call, and then you don’t need to have the phone in your hands, or anywhere as long as it’s like in your pocket or something. I think it’s like a 50 foot radius, so that’s pretty cool being able to talk on the phone completely hands-free, the sound is perfect, it sounds just like being on the phone, on both ends, because I’ll ask whoever I’m talking to how it sounds coming from my end and as long as you’re not in a noisy environment it’ll work just like talking on a regular phone. So that’s another one of my pros. And with the music, when you listen to the music with the hearing aids you can go into the app and control the ratio of your surrounding sounds and the music coming from the hearing aid, which is really cool because with all the other hearing aids I don’t remember ever seeing that feature so it’s nice being able to amplify your outside sounds while you’re still listening to music, that’s definitely a cool feature and would have to be one of my pros. And for cons, I really don’t have many, there’s really not much to not like about this hearing aid. The only issue that I have is the tapping can be pretty sensitive, like I can just take off my hat or scratch my head and next thing I know, siri is talking to me, and that’s kinda difficult when you’re trying to have a conversation with someone and siri is in your ear, you kinda gotta wait for that to stop. But there’s ways around that, you can go into the app and disable tapping or direct the tapping to just answering phone calls, or playing or pausing music, so there’s ways around that. I don’t really have many cons other than that, it’s nice being able to hear. This hearing aid is definitely the best one for me, as far as comfort, being able to hear my wife and daughter without them having to repeat themselves over and over. I love this hearing aid and I would buy it 10 out of 10 times. So this is what they look like while they’re in my ears. They’re receiver in canal so they’re not super noticeable, but you can still kinda see them. And this is what they look like in my hand. So yeah those are the pros and cons for my hearing aids, the Phonak Audeo Paradise. I hope that they helped you.

Hello, I’m Mark and I’d like to talk a bit about my experience with the Phonak Audeo Paradise 90R rechargeable hearing aids. I’m hoping that my comments might be particularly helpful to individuals who would like to know more about how the technology has changed in the past 10 years, as well as musicians, and that includes those of you who just enjoy listening to music. First, allow me to give a bit of background about myself because it relates directly and specifically to hearing. I’ve spent more than 50 years of my life in music. I’ve been a professional musician performing across a wide variety of styles. I’ve been a conductor of bands and orchestras, and for more than 30 years I’ve served as a Professor of Music at a large state university, where I primarily taught courses in music history and carried out research into various aspects of music listening. I’m extremely grateful for my career in music, but I also have no doubt that it is largely responsible for my significant hearing loss. 10 years ago I reluctantly accepted the fact that my loss of hearing was a problem that had to be addressed. Accepting hearing loss can be difficult for many people, but I would argue that it’s especially difficult, even embarrassing for musicians. By this time my wife had learned to accommodate me by speaking louder than normal and over-enunciating her consonants, but in the classroom I was struggling. College-aged students often speak very softly, and they certainly don’t over-enunciate. I found myself avoiding asking questions in class, because I found that in too many cases I wouldn’t be able to decipher the answers. Not a good thing at all. Social situations were also nightmarish. So I made an appointment with a Doctor of Audiology within the university medical system, and after comprehensive testing I learned that my hearing loss was even more profound than I imagined, especially in the upper register of hearing. So it was time for me to invest in hearing aids. Because of my circumstances I gravitated towards models near the top end of various product lines even though the prices were shocking. In the end, the audiologist recommended the Phonak Audeo S Smart IX and I accepted that because I have come to have a great deal of trust in her professional knowledge and judgment. Now that said, I was not a good patient. I didn’t like wearing the aids, and I had difficulty accepting that the world ever sounded to me like what I was hearing through those aids. I wore them only when teaching and in certain social situations, and I was always a bit disappointed with the performance. As a result, on average, the hearing aids were in my ears less than 2 hours a day. None of this of course was the fault of the audiologist. I now recognize that I had unrealistic expectations about how much my hearing would return to normal with aids, especially with what I had thought was a top end model. More than 9 years later, about 8 months ago, I became convinced by the positive experience of friends, who were using more recent models of hearing aids, to invest in a new pair for myself, even though my old Phonaks were still functional. So, have I found my new hearing aids to be an improvement over the previous pair? Here’s the bottom line- over the past 8 months, my average use has been 15.4 hours/day, which is more than my weekly average with the older pair. I simply enjoy wearing them. They’ve become integrated into my everyday life. And what caused this difference? Well, I’m convinced the technology has simply caught up with my expectations of 10 years ago. Here are the new Phonaks that I have, and you can see they’re a traditional behind-the-ear model. Why do I enjoy them so much? Well, the older pair often seemed to have a background of soft white noise, like a kind of sonic haze. Not so with this new pair. Sounds are more defined and the background is much cleaner. I don’t have to work as hard at hearing. Music listening is also more enjoyable, sounds are more real and convincing, and the distortion of high register pitches from coming from instruments such as the piccolo, the violin, and guitar, those distortions are gone. But as important as improved hearing is, and of course hearing enhancement is the sum and substance of hearing aids, it’s not the only reason I enjoy putting on these new Phonaks every morning. The Bluetooth connectivity along with the Phonak application on my phone are wonderful. I can answer and hang up on phone calls just by tapping the side of my head, and hearing phone conversation through my aids has made that method of communication pleasant for me again. I do a lot of road cycling and I don’t miss having to stop my bike, dismount, and dig out my phone whenever I need to take a call. I also like hearing the tones that signal a new text message or email has arrived. I listen to lots of music and news clips every morning, and it’s great to hear the audio without having to disturb anyone else. I enjoy watching the streaming movies and TV on my phone, and the sound coming directly, clearly into my ears is a pleasure. The phone app offers a number of programs to select from for specific situations- listening to music, watching television, conversation in restaurants, but I would guess that most wearers would find that the built-in AutoSense program accommodates their every needs quite adequately. And although I’m not an audiologist, I know what works best for me, so I really appreciate that I now have the ability to design and tinker with my own programs for various listening situations. So here’s another bottom line- for me, this advanced technology built into the hearing aids has turned what as an inconvenience, into a real convenience. And speaking of convenience, I love the recharging unit. It’s easy to use, and quick to charge. I would never want to return to batteries. Finally, let me address my experience purchasing hearing aids online. The company agents I dealt with on the phone and by email were knowledgeable and friendly, it was really first class stuff. The hearing professional they connected me with as a local liaison was also very helpful. I’ve been back to him several times for adjustments or questions, and I’ve never been charged. He even came in on a non-workday once, when I needed quick assistance. His office and equipment were definitely modest compared to the university clinic I visited for my first hearing aids, but I was very satisfied overall with his service and product knowledge. So here is my final bottom line. These Phonak Audeo Paradise 90 hearing aids, rechargeable, with the advanced technology and superior performance, ended up costing me several thousand dollars less than the Phonaks I purchased at the clinic 10 years ago. And let me offer up just one final piece of advice, given what I’ve already talked about. When you purchase hearing aids, consider investing in models with all the technology you are able to afford, I don’t think you will regret it.
