ReSound LiNX Quattro

A hearing experience beyond compare

As of August 27, 2020, LiNX Quattro is an outdated model. If you're interested in LiNX Quattro, we'd recommend checking out the next generation model- ReSound ONE.

ReSound had an epic run with the LiNX name- it was so good they stuck with it through 4 generations and 6 years. But all good things must come to an end. Luckily, the best parts of LiNX live on in ONE.

There are sometimes good reasons to purchase an outdated model, but in most cases we'd recommend taking a look at the newer model.

Good, but some issues

Have not had chance to experience all environments yet, but speech clarity is better than my former ReSound version. I still need to take time to play with adjustments in a number of settings, but overall electronic options appear good. Challenge is to get the speech clarity without the harsh sounds when too much treble is increased, while still getting the volume necessary for the situation. Was getting lots of feedback with the ear buds initially. Karla at Hear on the Shore tried a variety of buds and we decided to do ear molds to try to eliminate the feedback. Don't have them installed yet to check the effectiveness. Dealing with ZipHearing and Hear on the Shore has been very good. Will have a more complete report a few weeks from now with new ear molds and a few adjustments.Charlie Shaffer

I was missing a lot

I am still learning and adjusting. So far, I know know that I have been missing from music. It was a lot. I am adjusting to speech more slowly, but my eavesdropping skills have expanded exponentially. The aids are very light and comfortable. I haven't had them very long so I'm not sure I can say much about durability, but so far so good!

So far so good

I am in the process of continuing typical early adjustments, but so far so good. With regard to comfort, they are very comfortable. My hearing specialist along with Ziphearing have changed the wire length which is addressing movement of the aid behind my ear. Quality of sound is very good generally, we are working to address clarity while using the TV streaming program, for both TV and environmental sounds. I particularly like being able to adjust treble, medium and bass tones in all programs. Great improvement over prior model. The noise reduction setting in restaurant mode works well to isolate table conversation for better clarity. I can also use the the function of making my phone work like a microphone in restaurant if needed. Haven’t tried it yet, but sure like the idea of it. Will be attending some musical theater shows in a large venue soon so am will be able to asses how they work in that setting. More models need to be equipped with coil!! Also, why is there not more availability of both battery or recharge in all models? Need to be able tot the model wanted in either. So far I am happy with my Resound Lynx Quattro 9. Love Ziphearing too!

Voices much clearer

I recently purchased the resound hearing aides. I previously had phonack. I was happy with my previous pair but wanted a second pair. I have been wearing the resound now for about a and I hear people’s voices much clearer . I’m hearing music much clearer. The blue tooth is not as good as the phonak. The app with the resound is much easier to use. The audiologist zip hooked me up with is professional and excellent. This pair are a little more expensive then the previous on line company but worth the extra money.( I did not have problem with other company but working with Zip is a pleasure)

Very comfortable

I've been wearing the ReSound LiNX Quattro 9 Rechargeable for approximately 2 weeks.
This is my first hearing aid, but I did have a 2 week trial of the Widex 440 F2 prior to purchasing the ReSound.
The ReSound is easy to insert and remove; I've had no difficulties with that aspect of the product at all.
I have worn it continuously for up to 18 hours. I find it to be very comfortable; there have been several times I've forgotten that I had them on.
They charge quickly and hold charge well so far. Streaming audio with Bluetooth does indeed impact charge longevity. I haven't yet done a lot of experimenting with how quickly streaming depletes the charge.
I have an phome running Android 9 so I have to use the Clip device for streaming. I expect the phone will update to Android 10 in early 2020, making the Clip unnecessary.
So far, I am very pleased with the sound quality. We are still in the process of tuning the device to match my needs, so it will only get better.
I think the device may need some work on streaming performance. I occasionally experience 1 second dropouts on either side from time to time when listening to music or audiobooks. Other devices connected to my phone via Bluetooth do not exhibit these dropouts so I know it its the hearing aids. These is nothing unusual going on when those dropouts occur (not low on charge, no interference from nearby Bluetooth devices, the Clip is with definitely within range, etc.).
Streaming sound is not as good as I expected, but I think I know why:
My hearing needs a boost on the higher frequency ranges, so when streaming plays, that is what the hearing aids do. During normal (i.e. non-streaming) use, the hearing aids provide a higher frequencies supplement to the lower frequencies from my normal hearing. Streaming therefore sounds different because I'm not getting the low frequencies anymore; the hearing aids are acting like hearing aids, not ear buds or headphones.
So, it would be nice if when the device is being used in streaming mode, that the frequency range could be expanded to make it sound more like an ear buds or headphones.
I'll have to talk to my hearing professional and/or ReSound to see if this is possible.
Overall, I like the product. It definitely improves my quality of life which is my primary objective.

No cons at this point

Sound quality is great. Support from all those involved is awesome. No cons at this point, just having to learn to deal with the do’s and don’ts of wearing hearing aids.

Forget I am wearing them

Excellent hearing aids. I forget I am wearing them. I don’t make program adjustments as often as other hearing aids I’ve tried. I now understand that no hearing aid is perfect...especially in loud noise areas like restaurants. Oh well! In my opinion these are the best and easiest to use (although most expensive).

The difference in my hearing is remarkable

I have had my Resound Hearing Aids for a couple of weeks now and the difference in my hearing is remarkable. I love that when my IPhone rings I hear it in my hearing aid and the ability to carrying on a conversation is amazing. It is also great to just pop my hearing aids in the rechargeable charge overnight and not have to fool around with battery replacements every few days.

The best I have had

I have worn several hearing aids ove the last 8 years. These are without a doubt the best I have had.sound quality is great & they are comfortable to wear. I especially like the connection to my IPhone, I can now hear clearly phone conversations & I like being able to make adjustments with my phone. My only regret is that I have the Quatro 7 instead of the 9, they would have to be even better if that's possible.

Common questions about ReSound LiNX Quattro hearing aids

Bluetooth / ConnectivityRechargeabilityDisposable BatteriesControls/AppsMiscellaneous

Choose questions category:

Is this hearing aid Bluetooth compatible?
LiNX Quattro is Made for iPhone, which means it can connect directly with iPhones to stream music, phone calls, and more. LiNX Quattro is also compatible with the new Android protocol, Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA), allowing direct streaming from select Android devices with Android 10 and Bluetooth 5.0. If your phone isn't directly compatible with LiNX Quattro, you can still get Bluetooth functionality via the Phone Clip +.
Does this hearing aid allow for hands-free phone calls?
Only via the Phone Clip + accessory. When talking on the phone (even without the Phone Clip +), you'll hear the caller's voice streamed through both hearing aids (as long as your phone is Bluetooth compatible with the aids). But in order for the caller to hear your voice, you'll have to either hold your phone to your mouth as you normally do, or keep the Phone Clip + clipped to your shirt collar or worn around your neck, so the caller can you hear via the microphone on that accessory.
Can this hearing aid be paired directly to my Bluetooth TV?
No. To stream audio from the TV you'll need the Unite TV 2 streamer.
How many hours a day do the batteries last?
With no streaming, your battery will last an industry best 30 hours. With streaming, 24 hrs.
What is the lifespan of the rechargeable batteries?
Your rechargeable batteries should last a little over 4 years. At the end of that period, your hearing provider will have to send them in to ReSound to get the battery replaced. We expect that cost to be around $150-$250 per hearing aid.
How will I know when my battery needs to be charged?
A few minutes before the battery dies, you'll hear Beethoven's Fifth (dun-dun-dun-dun) through the hearing aids, letting you know it's time to charge your hearing aids.
What if I'm on-the-go and my battery dies?
A quick 30 minute charge will provide up to 8 hrs of power. But, if you think you're going to have a long day, without access to electricity, take the charger with you. The charger's built-in battery holds enough reserve for three full charges.
How long does it take to get a full charge?
3 hours for a full charge that'll provide 24-30 hours of use. 30 minutes for 8 hours of power.
Does the charger include a dehumidifier?
It does not. If you living in a humid environment or are concerned about moisture, we recommend buying the ReSound Dry-Aid Jar, which uses desiccant to remove moisture.
How long do the batteries last?
The 312 battery should last about 5 days. If you stream heavily, it could be a little less. Expect a few days extra from the 13 battery.
How will I know when it's time to change the battery?
A few minutes before the battery dies, you'll hear Beethoven's Fifth (dun-dun-dun-dun) through the hearing aids, letting you know it's time to change the battery.
Are the batteries hard to change?
For most people, no. But if you're concerned about this, we'd recommend getting the RIE 62 model, which uses a 13 battery that'll be easier to change than the 312. Or, just get the rechargeable model so you don't have to bother changing batteries.
How can I control this hearing aid, and which settings can I control?
Using either the pushbutton on the hearing aid, or either of ReSound's (2) remote controls, you can adjust the volume and program. Using the app, you can control volume, program, and base and treble.
How do I turn this hearing aid on and off?
If you use the rechargeable model, press and hold the onboard rockerswitch's bottom button down for 3 seconds to turn it on or off. Or, simply place the hearing aid in the charger. If you use a model with disposable batteries, opening the battery door will turn it off, and closing it will turn it on.
Does the app have a “Find My Hearing Aid” feature?
Yes, but in order for it to work your hearing aids must've been paired to your phone before they were lost. The app will show where the hearing aids were located when they were last connected to the app, and what time it was.
Is this hearing aid CROS compatible?
No. None of the LiNX Quattro models are CROS compatible.
Can I get this hearing aid with a telecoil?
The RIE 62 model has a telecoil, and the custom ITC and ITE styles have it as an option as well.
Aren't there custom in-the-ear models available?
Yes. This model is available in 5 different in-the-ear styles, that are built from a custom mold of your ear. These models are the same price as the models shown on this page- pricing only varies by tech level (5,7, or 9).
Is this hearing aid compatible with Cochlear™ devices?
Yes. ReSound and Cochlear share wireless technology, so you can stream directly to your Cochlear™ Nucleus 7 implant and hearing aid simultaneously from a compatible iOS or Android™ device.
