I’m really impressed

Review by: Scott from NC
Model: ReSound Omnia 7 RIE 61 Rechargeable
Bought: Aug 2022

Hi, I’m a minister and hearing is very vital to what I do. I got ReSound hearing aids and I love them. I’ve got a hearing loss that I can’t understand the words, but with the ReSound, you see them here, they’re discreet, they’re in my ears, and I can actually hear people talking, in the background, in front of me, I can watch TV without blasting everybody out of the room. It’s a very positive product, a very good product. I’ve had a pair before that lasted a good 7 years and I got them renewed for up to 10 years, and I just got a new pair, I’m hoping to get another 10 years out of them. But I recommend them, I recommend the people, Rick, who did it, my buddy, just an excellent person. But um, I’m really impressed with the product and it’s very good for me, thank you.

These are my 4th set of hearing aids

Review by: Gary from VA
Model: ReSound Omnia 9 RIE 61 Rechargeable
Bought: Nov 2022

Hello my name is Gary, I’m 69 years old and I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I've had hearing issues most of my life which has mainly affected my hearing at the high frequencies. As a young person my hearing was just a little bit below normal so I could get by without hearing aids but as I've aged my hearing loss has become more severe as a result. I’ve been wearing hearing aids for the last 20 years. I’m currently on my 4th set of hearing aids which I've purchased my latest set from ZipHearing. And this is the model I chose. This is the ReSound Omnia and I chose this model for several reasons. The first, I chose it because it's a RIE, or receiver in ear, model and it has the power I need for my particular type of hearing loss which is pretty severe. Plus the fact the majority of the hearing aid is actually situated behind the ear which makes it inconspicuous. The second reason I chose this is because it's a rechargeable model uh there are no batteries, I just stick it in the charger at night which comes with the hearing aids, this is right it goes in the right hand side. I wake up in the morning and it's charged so there's no maintenance, or batteries, buying batteries, and storing batteries that sort of thing like that. Third I chose this because it has a button on the top that you can control right here, you can control it locally with the hearing aid itself or Resound has an app that you can use on your smartphone. You can control it from your smartphone if you have bluetooth. I chose this model because I use the bluetooth a lot that's mostly how I control it. I have 4 programs situated in this hearing aid. And one is for normal hearing which is uh like we are now, one is for noisy environments such as restaurants and things like that, one is for outside and uh one is for music. So, also as a side note I struggle with tinnitus, uh ringing in the ears. Resound provides a tinnitus app which I downloaded to my smartphone and I can play various sounds that help overcome the ringing and I find this very helpful. So, would I recommend these hearing aids? Absolutely. I've owned these ReSound Omnias for about 3 months and they have been great, I’ve had no issues with them whatsoever. As I previously mentioned, these ReSound Omias are my 4th set of hearing aids. My previous 3 sets were made by Starkey, which I purchased through a local hearing specialist brick and mortar store. I was happy with the Starkey hearing aids but my last pair was about 6 years old and technology had passed it by. So I probably would have stayed with the Starkey, but my hearing, my ZipHearing specialist Sean Buttler recommended the ReSound hearing aids and I’m completely satisfied, I’m glad he did. Not to mention the fact that I saved a significant amount of money going through ZipHearing. So if I had one piece of advice for anybody who is considering hearing aids, I would say contact ZipHearing and they'll put you in touch with a hearing specialist that can analyze your hearing problem and provide a recommendation on a model that you can try before you buy, okay? Thank you very much.

Sorry I Waited!

My new hearings aids have given me a new lease on life. The quality improvement in my hearing is fabulous. They even help drown out my tinnitus. Now my grandkids’ voices are clear as a bell.

Excellent new hearing aids

The Omnia 9 powered by batteries 13 is incredible. I can now hear the doorbell and the phone ring. My voice sounds like my voice and the clarity is exceptional. The Omnia rechargeable was not reliable but I found the battery operated had clearer more natural sound and faster connectivity. The switch to the battery Omnia provided a much more satisfying experience. The app was faster and more automatic. Dealing with the courteous professional people at zip made buying hearing aids a comfortable process.

Extremely happy with new hearing aids

I have only had the hearing aids for 2 weeks, but have no complaints so far. Sound quality is great! These hearing aids are a newer model of the hearing aids they replaced, but these new ones are a massive improvement over my last pair. I really like that they are rechargeable and I no longer have to fuss with batteries. I do a lot of streaming from my iPhone and TV and I was changing batteries about every other day.

Top notch

Sound quality is excellent. Noise suppression is the best I've found and I had tried and returned several top rated aids prior to this one (I am single sided deaf.) The smartphone application gives you complete control over the sound. You can fine tune level of noise suppression as well as microphone focus. Supports T-coil if you go to the battery model (which I prefer) vs. rechargeable.

New to Hearing Aids

I first tried a custom (earbud style) from a maker I will not name and was unsatisfied. With no questions asked, they were returned within 45 days. I switched to Resound Omnia RIE 61R's and could not be happier. Great sound, superb tinnitus management, front focus, and unbelievable in windy conditions. The premium charger works as advertised. My only complaint is the app is hard to see in bright sunlight (not enough contrast). I could not finish this review without noting that Jeff Hall is the epitome of excellent customer satisfaction!

Common questions about ReSound Omnia hearing aids

Bluetooth / ConnectivityRechargeabilityDisposable BatteriesControls/AppsMiscellaneous

Choose questions category:

Does this hearing aid allow for hands-free phone calls?

ReSound Omnia allows for hands-free calls with iPhone 11 or newer and iOS 15.3 or newer, that means you can take calls without needing to physically hold the iPhone. If you use any other phone, you'll need to purchase the ReSound Phone Clip + accessory and keep it clipped to your shirt collar or worn around your neck during calls, so the caller can you hear via the microphone on that accessory.

Can this hearing aid be paired directly to my Bluetooth TV?
No. To stream audio from the TV you'll need the Unite TV 2 streamer.
Is this hearing aid Bluetooth compatible?
Omnia is Made for iPhone, which means it can connect directly with iPhones to stream music, phone calls, and more. Omnia is also compatible with the new Android protocal, Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA), allowing direct streaming from select Android devices with Android 10 and Bluetooth 5.0. If your phone isn't directly compatible with Omnia, you can still get Bluetooth functionality via the Phone Clip +.
How many hours a day do the batteries last?
With no streaming, your battery will last an industry best 30 hours. With streaming, 25 hrs.
What is the lifespan of the rechargeable batteries?
Your rechargeable batteries should last a little over 4 years. At the end of that period, your hearing provider will have to send them in to ReSound to get the battery replaced. We expect that cost to be around $150-$250 per hearing aid.
How will I know when my battery needs to be charged?
A few minutes before the battery dies, you'll hear Beethoven's Fifth (dun-dun-dun-dun) through the hearing aids, letting you know it's time to charge your hearing aids.
What if I'm on-the-go and my battery dies?
The desktop charger that comes with all orders can provide 8 hours of power with just a 30 minute quick charge. If you're always on-the-go and have long days, it's best to buy the Premium charger, because that charger stores 3 full days of charges, allowing you to pull reserve power from it in case you don't have access to electricity. Please note that the Premium charger is only available with the receiver-in-ear(RIE) models, and not the BTE models.
How long does it take to get a full charge?
Your hearing aids are fully charged in 3 hours, providing 25-30 hours of use. A 30 minute quick charge provides 8 hours of power.
Does the charger include a dehumidifier?
It does not. If you living in a humid environment or are concerned about moisture, we recommend buying the ReSound Dry-Aid Jar, which uses desiccant to remove moisture.
How long do the batteries last?
The 312 battery should last about 5 days. If you stream heavily, it could be a little less. Expect a few days extra from the 13 battery.
How will I know when it's time to change the battery?
A few minutes before the battery dies, you'll hear Beethoven's Fifth (dun-dun-dun-dun) through the hearing aids, letting you know it's time to change the battery.
Are the batteries hard to change?
For most people, no. But if you're concerned about this, we'd recommend getting the RIE 62 version, which uses a 13 battery that'll be easier to change than the 312. Or, just get the rechargeable model so you don't have to bother changing batteries.
How can I control this hearing aid, and which settings can I control?

Using either the push-button on the hearing aid, or either of ReSound's (2) remote controls, you can adjust the volume and program. Using the app, you can control volume, program, and base and treble. On the ITC and ITE model, the push-button is able to control the program, volume, and start/stop streaming. On the CIC model, the push-button (optional) can control either the volume or program. Please note the CIC model is completely non-wireless and does not work with Bluetooth, so the only way to control any settings on the CIC model is with the push button.

How do I turn this hearing aid on and off?
If you use the rechargeable model, press and hold the onboard rockerswitch's bottom button down for 3 seconds to turn it on or off. Or, simply place the hearing aid in the charger. If you use a model with disposable batteries, opening the battery door will turn it off, and closing it will turn it on.
Does the app have a “Find My Hearing Aid” feature?
Yes, but in order for it to work your hearing aids must've been paired to your phone before they were lost. The app will show where the hearing aids were located when they were last connected to the app, and what time it was.
Is this hearing aid CROS compatible?
No. None of the Omnia models are CROS compatible.
Can I get this hearing aid with a telecoil?
The RIE 62 model comes with a telecoil.
Is this hearing aid compatible with Cochlear™ devices?
As of the launch date in late August of, 2022, we could not get a definitive answer from ReSound on this question, but we do except Omnia to be compatible with Cochlear devices. Please contact us regarding this question and we'll update you with the latest info.
ReSound One vs. Omnia
On the outside, ReSound One and Omnia look the same. It's the inside that sets them apart. ReSound Omnia provides significantly better hearing in noisy environments than any previous ReSound hearing aid, in fact ReSound says Omnia delivers a 150% improvement in speech understanding compared to previous models. ReSound has also made the user's own voice sound more tolerable/normal with the new Omnia model. There's also a new feature with Omnia, called 'Check My Fit' which gives users guidance to wear their hearing aids correctly via a quick ear selfie. Wearing hearing aids incorrectly can result in up to 11dB of sound escaping the ear, reducing the ability to hear considerably.
